Today we had a auction to sell my inlaws farm. We moved them to town this Spring. I found this old Ford antifreeze can and thought it would be a neat fathers day gift for my dad who collects stuff like this. Happy fathers day to all you dads. Go turn some wrenches or tires, what ever turns you on. Marty

That's pretty cool. I'm sure your dad will like it. I spent the entire day bead blasting and painting parts. More of the same tomorrow.

Steve what project are you working on now? I like taking those old rust parts restoring them to new again. Marty

1973 Mach 1, Saddle Bronze Metallic exterior, Med. Ginger interior, Q code 351 Cobra Jet, C-6 auto, air, rear defog, am/fm, tilt, fold down rear seat. I'm doing a total restore, hoping to have it done in time to put up for sale at the Bellevue, Wa. show next month. Found out today the engine builder is two weeks behind, and the body shop that was restoring my front bumper just lost their body guy so they don't know when the bumper will get finished. I'm starting to get concerned. Almost finished with the new undercoating though, so that's a plus.

Wow that is a really well optioned car and beautiful too.You must have a extra special project next to part with such a cool car so soon. When you get to Bellevue I am sure that you and Rob will put it through the paces and light the tires a time or two. Marty

Well I do have a 1 of 1 Boss 351 I'd like to get to some day, but the biggest reason is: (Here it is folks, the world premier announcement) I've been thinking of moving to western Oregon and would rather not move as much stuff. Both my kids and all my grandkids are more or less in that area and I'd like to be closer than 5-6 hours away. As it is now, I'd have to rent an entire auto transporter just for my older stuff. If it sells and I make a little, it'll be alright. If it doesn't sell, that's alright too.

Is it considered "over-restored" when you bead blast and paint, not just the rear end, but the springs and all mounting hardware as well?

No it is not over restored! That is what I call a restoration. I do belive that I have found another detail nut like my self! My dad says I don't know why you go to all that trouble when no one will see it any way. I reply but I will. Looks great keep up the good work! Marty

I just figuered out a good way to paint a rear axel. Put the driveshaft U bolts back in rear yoke and lift it with the engine hoist. You can paint all sides and the darn thing won't fall over. Marty
