Hi everyone,

I haven't been on the site in a while. My cousin is doing a ground up restoration on his "J" code C.S. and I noticed yesterday that he has a reproduction d.s. rear end cap. I've looked on the various websites and no luck. I don't like the reproductions because of the lack of quality. If anyone has an extra that they want to sell, shoot me a message.

Cheers!

Ron

Is there some sort of visual difference between original & repo 1/4 extensions?
I have a pair of them, but I don't know of their lineage. If you wish, I'll send them to you
for your evaluation. If you can use them - fine. If not, just send them back.

Hi Neil, it's great to hear from you. The original 1/4 extensions have pre-formed pedestals that the mounting bolts are anchored to. The reproductions have a bolt that is just epoxied to the inside and no pedestal.

Ron, would you mind posting a photo of the bolt and epoxy on the repops? It would be good to have a visual comparison to originals.

Here's a copy of the reproduction side scoop and you can see they just epoxied the bolt to the back side of the scoop. The end caps are done just like it. I'm trying to find a photo of the end cap, but no luck yet.
