They have some nice cars up for auction. Question about the '68 Shelby. It's an S code car but has a 428CJ. Were Shelby codes different? Or am I just clueless ???

All early 1968 GT 500 Shelby's were "S" code cars. The engines were the 428 police interceptor engines, not the 390. Around February, the Shelby's became GT 500KR models and the 428ci. Cobra Jet engines were installed. The KR Shelby's carry the "R" code in their VIN. Hope this helps,
