Paul, Arlie, thx for the lead on the T shirts. Should I get one now or wait until I get the car one day? Maybe better to buy now to support the site!!

Looks cool in arrest me red!! Really neat that Tim custom makes them to suit each owner!! I haven't had a shirt like that since I got a cartoon one of the '67 Cougar-gave it away when I sold the Cougar to its new owner...

Polo shirts, couldn't find.

Jim what are you looking for in the way of a GT/CS? Project, driver, or show car?

Very good question! Honestly can't afford and don't want a show car, but of course want a nice one. Equipment, condition, color, very important!!

Just still flirting with the idea, now, a bright red one with a console would be fine, certainly not in need of a Cobra Jet, I feel the 289/302 is more balanced, and Mike confirmed my suspicion that it is a "DEVIL" of a job to change out the plugs on a 390-yeah they go like a bat out of hell, but are heavy in the front and probably would plow more in the corners; dont forget also that the 289/302 responds VERY well to aftermarket mods.

I like aircon in this area in the summer, and disc brakes too!! (I drove once my 67 drum brake 289 through a puddle and soaked the brakes, and lost them, very exciting!!)

For all of that, I would even still look at a 200 CI with a 3 speed, with orig. Calif black plates, and few options too

Given the many option combos, almost infinite, it would be very hard.

That is my thinking so far.

Oh yeah, got my polo shirt ordered. Sharon was very co operative!
Might even get the chance to pick it up in person, they live less than 10 miles away!

Thanks for your interest:smile:

Tim,

Thanks for the offer to let me a CS!! Actually Mike introduced me to you at the car show when I was running off my motor mouth with questions then,
probably you don't remember me...

Yes I would like to see one of them, (next week?) Mon or Tues at your coffee break or whenever? Don't know which one, perhaps whichever is most heavily optioned, completely orig. or restored?

BTW, today I had breakfast with the Roamin' Angels car club at their Friday
weekly meeting at the Breakfast Club (Fowler Center in NC)

and the owner of the white '68 T-5 fastback was there. I got to meet him and take a look at the car, first one of these I have ever seen, and was told the T-5 was an export model made through 1969. Could not have the word M U S T A N G anywhere on the car, because the name was already in use in Germany! But his car appeared to have never been exported as it bears its original black California plates (1968 X reg.)

Later,
Jim
