1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

I'm just going to scribe a line with a pair of dividers. Hold them horizontal and use the inner edge of the fender as the guide. There is a setback dimension in "the Book", but I'm on the road and don't recall the value... I'll probably cut some tempaltes from paper and mock it up to see what setback looks pleasing to my eye... was thinking that it woudl probably look best at the base of the flare.

Marty, as much as my car was butchered, when I disassembled the car, I found the side stripes wrapped around the front of the fender 1/2 inch between the fender and the fender extension (head light bucket). These were remnant of the factory installed stripes.

I just looked at my HCS and the stripes don't seem to wrap into the head light bucket. They look like they were trimmed right at the seam.

I do know for sure that the stripes did not wrap the scoop on the HCS because the scoop stripe was not applied untill it reached a 51 DSO dealer.

Mine wrap around the front of the scoop (into the screen area) but don't wrap the back. As you said, they were installed on the car for the HCS's.
