On the "Fab Fords Forever" thread I mentioned that I'm restoring my suspension ... I'm just curious, what have some of you done (or would like to do) to your cars?
So far, I've replaced the shocks (KYB Gas-Adjust), and plan on replacing bushings (Energy Suspension poly urethane), installing a Scott Drake export brace, and then welding in some subframe connectors ... I'm also looking into Traction Master bars like Shelby used on some of his cars ...

Welded caps (tabs, so they can be removed) on the stock upper A-arms, added 90 degree zerk fittings. Export brace. Bilstein street valved shocks. Stock perches on the convertible. Rollers on the coupe (not driving yet).

The Bilsteins made a big difference over KYB GR-2's on the convertible, far less "floaty" and flatter in the turns, a bit firmer ride, but not harsh.

Looked at traction bars on the coupe, but left them off.

... For the Energy Suspension bushings (I selected the black over the red), they include the following: front control arm bushings, front sway bar bushings, front strut rod bushings, and rear leaf spring bushings. Since my car was ordered with the HD suspension (per Marti Report), I’ll keep the Ford HD sway bar in place … and I’ll probably keep the springs since the PO had them replaced … if all this turns out good, then I’ll probably focus on body and paint :thumb: …

My car also had the heavy duty suspension. I kept the front sway bar also but used 1" lowering springs in front. I read somewhere that the heavy duty springs were 620 lbs so rather than cut the originals I swapped to new ones. I also installed a 3/4" stambar rear sway bar.

... yeah, I'll take a hard look at my car's stance and height when I'm done with my mods and see if different springs are the way to go ... even Shelby moddified Mustangs' suspensions for Trans Am racing ...
