I think he has the right idea in that the dog owner must be the alpha dog and must think like a dog but, like American Hot Rod, or Overhaulin', it's not quite as easy as he makes it look. I'll bet a lot of it ends up on the cutting room floor.

Yeah, I'm sure the show doesn't have time to show everything, but I'm sure that in some cases, he (or another insightful trainer) can come in and not only understand the problem, but also start working on a solution ... Last night's episode was on an aggressive Australian Shepard (Kobe) who was blind in one eye - he was featured in our local paper this past weekend. The owner admits that he still needs work, but they need to follow Cesar's plan: exercise, discipline, affection, in that order ...

I think he's great. I have worked with animals for almost 20 years. My latest dog is a 2 year old 95# German Shepherd who has issues. I had never had a dog his size before. I started using Cesars basic principals and it has really made a difference. He still has his Norman (as in Bates) moments but I continue to work on it. I wish I could get Cesar to come here and work with my dog.

I work with a local animal humane society and they tell me that the National Humane Society is after this guy for cruelty...he once left a dog on a choke chain leash/collar on a treadmill and the dog was later found dead. There are lots of other charges against him as well. I don't know this first hand, but heard about it a couple days ago.

Here is what I can find on the internet

Millan also is the subject of two lawsuits.

One was filed by 8 Simple Rules producer Flody Suarez, who said his Lab was hurt after being put on a treadmill at Millan's center. The lawsuit claims breach of contract, fraud, animal cruelty and intentional infliction of emotional distress, among other allegations. It seeks more than $25,000 in damages. "I don't know the person," Millan says. "It's not a very nice lawsuit. I didn't touch the dog. The dog was at my center."

The other suit is from former publicist Makeda Smith and her partner, Foster Corder, who have sued Millan and other defendants, including the National Geographic Channel, claiming that Smith originally conceived the name "Dog Whisperer" for Millan.
