I don't know. Donna might be right. It sort of looks like a hoogalator but it just looks way to big, and I've never seen one with a spring. I have no clue what the spring does.........unless someone has finally figured out a way to make an oscillating hoogalator. Now that would be cool!!!

Not sure. This is a car on eBay. It must be the fuel line. I assume the front line is encased in some protective stuff. The seller says he was going to add fuel injection in the future so Jason might be right in that it's some sort of fuel pressure booster or fuel pump. If that's what it is it's just the strangest one I've ever seen.

On closer inspection, I believe it is a thingamajig converted into a hoogalator.
Dang, that must have been a lot of work. Would have been easier to just buy a used hoogalator!

Yeah, but anyone could do that. Then you wouldn't get the satisfaction you get when building your own hoogalator.

I've been thinking about installing a turbo hoogalator. Maybe that picture is a fuel injected hoogalator? That would make more sense.

I've reviewed the previous posts, and I think that some of you have been inhaling fumes from the hoogalator and are now full of hooey!

I take offense to that comment. It didn't take a hoogalator to fill me with hooey

The spring is most likely the piston return spring.

Naw... that's an exhaust-driven McFlatchy pump (notice close proximity to the muffler sprocket). The hose up front connects to permiating filters in the passenger compartment and the rear to the fuel tank. With the advent of fast-food resturaunts, they were tried on cars going to Mexico to extend range, but discontinued because of unpredictable surgeing at highway speeds... The modern Nitrous systems were perfected from these.
