was my first thought but after reviewing the pictures carefully I determined the housing was just a little too large for 1968 muffler bearings. If this was on a modern rice buring import I would say the opposite. The muffler bearings are VERY large on these new high performance 4 cylinder cars (it is VERY hard for me to say 4 cylinder high performance).

That's actually a disguised lock box for an extra house key or car key. Heck of place to hide those babies. Bet a thief would never think of looking in there.

...You know, it might be a lubricator for journal type muffler bearings. Train cars have something like that. Or maybe this car is equipped w/ air brakes?

... I hear that the only tool you need for installing and adjusting muffler bearings is a metric crescent wrench ...

I've reviewed the previous posts, and I think that some of you have been inhaling fumes from the hoogalator and are now full of hooey!

Hooey only comes from hooeygalators and hooey bees.
Now a hoogalator is a completely different beast, looks similar to a heffalump.
Excuse me for being so bold but I thought everybody knew that.

We did - but after so much inhaling, we're beginning to hooyeloosenate!

This is so simple.....if it's not grounded to the thesis switch through the coniggling pin it'll burn out the high speed muffler bearings and that will sometimes affect the calibration of the framostat. Do I have to tell you guys everything?
