Thanks, all, for the encouragement and suggestions. I will keep looking and keep my options open as I come across potential opportunities.

I know of a car which is being restored and I plan to approach the owner this week to see if he's willing to part with it any time soon (story was that it was supposed to have been for his teenage daughter, who now doesn't want it).

We'll see what happens, in the meantime, I'll keep looking. :)

Mine came from "Salmon Arms" B.C. which, from the name of it you can surmise is in the middle of nowhere. I had no way to get there, so I had it carriered down to Sacramento, and took a train up to drive it home.... :D

Good luck in the search,
Robert

Thanks for the offer to look at it, Mosesatm, that's very nice of you ... but $25k+ seems a little too high for my budget. And though the car looks nice in the pic's, it seems to me that it's a little short on the options list to be asking for that amount. I'll keep lookin' ...

I hope we're not looking for the same car. My perfect GT/CS will be Highland Green w/white stirpes, black deluxe interior and air. Small block w/4-speed. Don't really want power steering and switching over to disc brakes is easy so they are not all that important. The only "must have" is the air (Houston summers....horrible Houston summers). Like you I really don't want to restore a car. I've done that enough times before, and I am willing to spend the money for the right car.

What are you looking for?

Since my search is for a nice daily driver, and if "I were King", I would probably prefer a small
block (289, 302), but I would be open to a 390 or 428. I also would like a 4 speed, or C4 auto, or even a T5 or
AOD ... but not a 3 speed. I also would like front
disc brakes, and AC (So Cal can get pretty hot also).
My color preferences vary and I also understand that certain combos may be achieved at a later date.
Yeah, I restored a mustang before, but that was when I was single ... now being married and a father, and a house to pay for and keep up, it's not as simple ;)

for the record if anyone finds a 390 or 428 with Auto, power steering and AC, if I buy it I will pay a finders fee.

the finders fee would be in the 4 figures and I am not joking.

Jason, if you are ready to try something a little different I know where there is a PERFECT '68 1/2 428 Cobra Jet coupe. Probably the prettiest '68 I've ever seen, with the possible exception of the highland green Shelby at Sam's. There's that color again, hmmm.

Have no idea if the guy would sell it but as we all know everything is for sale for the right price.......

If you are interested I'll send you some pictures.
