OK Let me walk on some very thin ice here, so here goes, yes the HCS is rare, but what brings its rarity, a HCS sticker, does a sticker constitute a larger value than a big block, or a 6 cyl. for that matter. don't think so
I'll agree with the sticker/badge in that if the HCS car is a basic 289 with little or no other options the badge and the fact that there aren't many of them with the badge isn't going to help the value much a small percentage but not a lot. Now if you have the beautiful red HCS with that infamous hood scoop like our dear friend here on the site you have something. But it's that option that makes that car so valuable. Not that it's an HCS, the HCS helps add some but compared to a plain Jane HCS the dollars will speak for themselves. It's all about how the car is optioned if you want to make big percentage jumps.
Besides the badge on 1967 HCS there is also the special paint color: Aspen Gold, Columbine Blue and Timberline Green.
Just to clarify again,the 1967 HCS on E bay has a C=code 289ci engine. If it was a big block that would be a totally different scenario.

Arlie/Don, yes it is a c-code car. A big block in my opinion changes everything. I think a 390 big block coupe would be bring what...$7-10K in the condition shown? Probably over $25 restored? Mark.

Your in the ball park. My 68 GT 390 Coupe was appraised at $25,900.00 three years ago. Only thing left is the paint (still has factory paint) which I had buffed and clear coated. No sheet metal replacement. Person who did the appraisal was amazed that the car still had all the original sheet metal and paint. Paint has some spidering and chips but, overall is about a 10 foot car. I paid $10,500.00 for her 4 years ago.
I can picture those rear tires with 12 lb's of pressure in them coming off the starting line with big fat wrinkles in them (and of course the front end waaaay in the air). 8)

Jason;
The GT has been my test car so far and I'm thinking of putting a set of those on the CS. Now that I've managed to hurt the motor in her and it's under going another rebuild. Plans are 428 crank, 60 over bore, 428 pistons etc. etc. I think she's going to need the extra tread. I've been reluctant to put those on for fear it might look kinda funny with the rear section the car has but, the more I see the GT, the look is growing on me. Besides, I just happen to have an extra set just lying around the garage.
I have been considering getting a 68 1/2 CJ. If I cannot find something that I really like I might do a 68 390 stroker of some kind. Got the itch pretty bad.
