John, it's hard for me to fathom motors rebuilt from spray cans
Hey guys,
I know this subject has been mentioned in the forums before, but the fact that we have to wonder if $30,000.00 for a 97% restored 390 GT/CS is too much is a bit of a concern for me. While I support the idea of keeping prices reasonable for "insider trading" the simple truth is that if we GT/CS owners want our cars to be treated with the respect due a true collectible then we have to get past the price issue. To be accepted as a collectible in the general market a fully restored car should be worth more than the cost of restoring it properly. If the GT/CS never gets to that point the only cars on the market will be used cars with spray painted engines and $600.00 Maaco paint jobs. Now, I think it's cool that we have cars that are kind of the "blue collar Shelby's", but at the same tiime I would like to see more GT/CS's restored to premium grade cars, and I accept that premium grade cars bring premium prices.
When I was in high school, I saw a guy change his oil and then tell everyone he'd rebuilt his engine. Like everything else, documentation is the key.
Steve
You mean that's not an engine rebuild?onder:What if I have a receipt from the local Quick Lube?

Hey Don, how did you get a maroon die cast? Is that the prototype? I got stuck with white and blue - well except for a 1/64. I'm jealous.
