Welcome SD GTCS. If you have never owned a GT/CS before, you will soon find out it is an addiction. LOL.

I never owned a Mustang before!
I would like to get my name on this Website registry though. Mike never really owned this car, I bought it from the original owner.

Why do most GTCS I see have the front end so high? mine sits high also:

These are the springs I have, are there manuals somewhere that can decode the colors for part numbers? are these correct?

Normal stance was "nose up" for the Mustang. The rears tend to sag making older cars look even more so.

The red/yellow springs are original, and would indicate a 289. Nice and clean under there, look for other paint spots on suspension, rear springs, and chalk marks on the RH apron (outside the battery) and on the front lower cross member under the radiator, common place for factory "notes"....

The rear springs were changed due to sagging. Here are some inspection marks I found:
On core support (new radiator also)

on left fender support:

on right side of hood, near the front:

Thanks for the VIN - help catalog the pictures ;)

Don't believe all of those are inspection marks - the rear drivers side inner (your car 40) is more likely IMHO a dealer applied mark

For some more (should be the same guy most of the time) check both fenders at the fender lip to inner fender and back side of the head light buckets

Then for a different inspector - passenger side cowl (body color area) below the hood weather strip level

The one you found on the radiator support is more often, from the ones I've seen, on the hood latch support when it was used

Now I'm feeling inspired as my undercarriage is very oily/dirty but looks very solid. What did you use? Paint thinner and rags?

I use wax and grease remover, rags, a soft plastic body filler type spreader/paddle (for scraping off goo/dirt before wiping (so you don't scour the surface with embedded grit in grease on the rag), and a no-scratch scotch brite (very lightly) for stubborn spots... sometimes in crevices a toothbrush and an occasional squirt of rattle can degreaser with a straw....

Checked my dash pad color. It is a very dark green, but its a little lighter on the sides where the sun doesnt hit.

Inner fender has some body color in some areas, it looks like the under hood black-out paint was shot from the top angle, and there is also lots of welding splatter. Is this normal, as I don't see restorations done this way?

Shock tower braces are gloss black, I have only seen restored cars with semi-flat black:

It is hard to tell by the pictures but it looks like the black was thin and time and cleaning has removed it in places.
Often cleaning will change the finish of the paint. No restorations are not like that, semi gloss black was used through out the engine bay.

Here is the other brace, I just wiped the center a little with a dry rag. Kind of glossy

The edge to the far right has a thick edge of the black on the back side. Only the edges that would be shielded from a spray comming from the back left side are showing body color

This edge is also thick on the back side

I have done a few heater cores in my time, but this Mustang is the easiest one I have ever done!

Yes that was pretty sloppy workmanship. A lot of parts like the shock tower braces were dipped not sprayed and that can lead to a different level of gloss.
