    1968 Exhaust Options

I have JBA shorty headers and they are great. No clearance problems. They do help the sound of the engine, but I found the muffler choice had much more to do with how the engine sounded. I had Flowmasters - they give a lower, mellow, grunty sound. I changed to Magnaflows - they have a...

    Need a flathead V8

I am in need of a running flathead v8 for my '36 ford project. Please PM me if you have one for sale or know of leads. Thanks, Casey

    Passenger Door Lock Question

I noticed on my all original 36 ford that there is only a keyed door lock on the passenger side - there is NOT one on the drivers side. I have asked around and this is the case for many early year cars, but no one seems to know why. So....Why is there a door lock only on the passenger side of...

. My new Project - 36 Ford Pickup

Several of you have asked me to post pictures. So, here is the 'ole rusty pickup that will become my next hot rod. It was the "real deal" barn find. It came with a free rat nest (including rat pee rust), and as I was tracing the wiring I found some of it to be organic - ie, they were'nt...

    1968 A must-have book!...

Thanks Mike. I just bought a 36 ford truck (a barn find) and it has a flathead. I intend to make it into a hot rod, but am totally ignorant about flat head engines. I will check this out. Thanks a lot. Casey

    1968 brake drum color

What is the original color of the brake drums? I am cleaning my wheel wells now and want to paint the drums. My CS is a daily driver, so I dont need the exact paint number....just the basic color (silver, black, grey?). Thanks! Casey

1968 1968 Tribute Something Mustang - Yellow Jacket Hornet?

It made the cover of Mustang Times and feature article for this month. It is claimed as a Green Hornet tribute. Though a very nice car, it is hardly close to the Green Hornet. It is more like a California Special with a Shelby nose. Much of the car is highly modified with modern technology...

    1968 Trim Ring

Danny, you are correct. When MCA judged they told me it was the tire that mattered - the wheel does not have to match. I just decided to add a matching wheel for looks. Casey

    1968 Deck lid question

I think you are going to find that most everyone with the original decklid is going to have the decklid warped some. Mine is. In past posts it has been discussed that a way to fix it is to lay a towel down on top and then pile a bunch of shop manuals (or old encylopedias) on top of the towel...

    1968 Trim Ring

I bought a rallye wheel for my spare tire in order to match the rest of the wheels and tires (MCA requires tires to match). It would look better with the brushed trim ring. Does anyone have an extra one around they would like to sell me. Driver quality....not looking for perfection. I just...

1968 What Class for Your GT/CS

Around here, the Shelby guys drool over my GT/CS because it is so unique and rare (with Shelby history) - and I know mine cost a lot less than theirs. Casey

1968 Question for Paul Newitt Regarding the Sequence of Assembly

None of the blueprints for the sidescoops refer to this. There is painstaking detail on the blueprints for the rear light plates and the "California Special", as well as the fog lights and hood pins. So, my guess is that these changes were not "designed" but done on the factory floor - likely...
