X-Code Needs Title Help, May be for sale; Sad Story..

Paul I found it interesting that you would put the car in the registry in that was rather than a note that the car had likely destroyed. As for the "car" it will likely receive a new state VIN like it would in this state. Really surprised that the state official made mention that they had not...

Does this belong to someone here??

Ran across this tonight on the way home from getting dinner. Looks like it might be a new purchase for someone and wondered if it was a forum participant. Can't confirm if its real or not and could not make the VIN out clearly. Good to see many of you at Concord this last weekend. Some of...

    Mystery Hood Wire Retainer

No I've never seen a reproduction for that clip or the one at the base (with the screw through it). Only source I would think is other 68 Mustangs, don't recall seeing it on any other Ford applications yet

    Vacuum connections without Smog

Might want to clarify .... no small block or 6 cylinder 68 Mustang with an automatic came with a Thermactor smog system ;)

    Gold Nugget Special Times Two

Long thread and I'm not sure if I've gotten everything that was written but wanted to post a couple of comments and questions Interesting reading about another search going on ;) Do you mean by this comment that Kevin states that no such car or VIN was ever assigned? Please remember that...

    Question on options. Cobra Kit?

Unless you have proof the car came this way its likely that the car was loaded up by a previous owner. Its some what common (for those who want to spend the dollars) for owner to load their car up with every option to make them stand out from all the other Mustangs. The open letter valve...

Book Info Question No. 1: Electrical

That will work in a pinch or if your building a driver. The bases (original verse the electronic) are different in shape

Has anyone seen stripe or ext paint chip samples on '68 GT/CS trunklid?

Only thing that comes to mind is an early (before they were available made up) a Rainbow or Gay pride decal

    Current NADA Values 5-16-2007

Since this is based ( I believe) on sales I would bet that it the higher sale prices are based in part, on model identification. Calif Specials have allot more exposure in the publications and because of it more buyers can identify them and are aware of the program that produced them

    Ford Mustang 1965-66 database question

Heard a number of different stories - data storage changed and backwards compatibility was not considered to the records were stored in the Rotunda which burnt down. Never really made a difference to me, why they were not available, just that they were not ;)

The GT/CS perspective vs. the resto-mod hype

Paul just make sure you note that not all (in fact few) received that, or we will have every one copying it on there car ;) Always an issue with details..... just look at all the people that copy stuff from magazines where they typically do not list when or where the car was built. Just a...

Would you like to have your Gt/CS restored to Concourse Trailered condition?

A few observations of the hobby 1- In general I find that most owners would love to built a Concours car just to see if they could and how their efforts would stack up 2- There is some differences between regions as to how the process takes place and what happens after you build. In general...

    Tail Light Bezel

Not much of a debate.... just some owners that believe for some reason their cars were "different" because they bought them with black frames ;)

    help identify parts?

Nope that is NOT what we're saying. I believe we both think this might be the relays (IF WE COULD CONFIRM the numbers) for the system. There is a ton of other expensive stuff we do not see in the pictures

    help identify parts?

Same thing I was thinking (convience control option) John. Hoped the engineering numbers would confirm or exclude it

    restoring instrument bezel?

Neil - respectfully where did you get this? The correct color is the Dark Charcoal Metallic (Charcoal Black Metallic in the sample below). Yes its almost black and is called black but there is a subtle difference. Any period paint chip book will spell this out clearly Had to Photoshop it for...
