    upper tail light panel mounting

Pretty simple oval headed phillips screws finished in phosphate and oil. Remember the black cord chalking between the panel and the metal taillight panel along the top edge Hope these help

    Correct decal placement

how many 1965 triple black A code convertibles were made??

No one can help you - sorry. Ford lost all of that data many years ago in a fire its reported. Not saying that it is the fact in your case but allot of these cars have been altered by earlier owners since they know there is no way of proving the car didn't come that way - if they do a good...

    Correct decal placement

Could not find the pictures I have of a really nice original 68 X code (they are somewhere in the 40,000 ) but here is an X code with the decal locations notated #1- Battery inspection decal (filled out) Correct decal currently is not widely available #2- Engine ID tag (paper) Reproduction is...

    Correct decal placement

What engine and options does your car have? When it was built at San Jose might narrow it down also. If you bought the typical "kit" you'll not be using a number of decals included in it ;)

    Metal tag Decipher

Kevin Marti has a new book (came out a few months ago) that focuses on decoding all the different tags. Think that is exactly what you need and a good addition to any library Its available directly from Kevin or many of the parts suppliers have them - believe its called the "Tag Book" or...

    Red Oxide Primer

I would suggest that the old article was not specific enough and did not reflect San Jose cars. (Dearborn started using the batch colors for undercarriages in 65) Like most articles, especially older ones, most of the information reflects how Dearborn cars were assembled. The article is too...

    "Front" sticker on air cleaners

For viewers - take note of the aftermarket emissions system added to the front of the air cleaner.

    "Front" sticker on air cleaners

No "FRONT" decal on a 68 San Jose car originally - IMHO ;)

    Seeking 1967 Corvette Fiberglas Expert

Paul you might find that the "pink" (sometimes with specks of green) was part of the part (gel coat and part of the "plastic mix") rather than a primer coat

    "Front" sticker on air cleaners

The paper tag was a temporary one designed for use at the plant and not really for owners or service personnel. The aluminum tag was designed for that purpose. ;)

Project GT/CS are selling better than finished cars

Really not that unusual in my experience. You can always find a dreamer that believes they can build a car cheaper than a finished car. Completed cars are not always the bargain but if you can find one that the owner did correctly and not for resale - those are often the best buy IMHO Project...

1968 Looking for my first GT/CS

If it was an X code it would have been an automatic car - only way you could get them unless his was a modified car ;) Friend has a Black on Black X code Calif Spec

    OEM Hose clamps not clamping!!

Correct - Ford experimented with the wire clamps on small blocks at San Jose plant starting in 66. Plenty of original cars and engineering drawings from 66 and 67 showing these

    289 engine

Block casting will do you little good. The casting date in conjuction will tell you more If you have an S code car then yes putting the original style engine (same year does matter) unless the car is a modified car anyway. A S code with a small block is worth less in most cases

    driveshaft stripes

Yes know (should be on the list of ones we have info on) - but need more info from you When was the car assembled? And is it a one or two (tube in tube) piece driveline? BTW Scott's site only covers Cobra Jet cars

    Changes to the Online Reg

How does one add/change information. I resubmitted but recieved "Cannot execute specified query 1062 Duplicate entry '8R01J160344' for key 1" Attempted to add the original dealer and correct a couple of items - since I recently got the Marti on this car and some others Sorry if this is...

Need Concours 6 Cylinder Engine photos

OF course this would not have to be in a Calif Spec but from a San Jose T code built during the period and of course if "restored" we would hope that it was done correctly ;) Looked through my pictures (not allot of unrestored 6 cyl) Best I have is a 80K mile car with a few changes (spark plug...

help please: identifying a CS & HCS

Jerry like looking at most limited production or "special" cars you can work from two ends 1- what identifiers would indicate if a car could be one of the group 2- what identifiers would indicate if a car could NOT be one of the group #2 can often make the evaluation quicker. So looking at...
