I should have said rvrtrash and Gary have a good point. Scott

The Return of the GT/CS Window Decal!

rvrtrash has a good point. Would be less confusing to have 2-decals...one for GT/CS and one for HCS. Maybe Paul could do the GT/CS decal and Bob could handle the HCS decal. Scott

HCS: Are they more than a special color Mustang and badge?

I don’t want to belabor this point, but I just wanted to clear up what I meant by “appearance package”. Simply that it doesn’t include any other enhancements. It doesn’t have anything to do with engine size necessarily. If the GT/CS package came with suspension upgrades, or different rear...

HCS: Are they more than a special color Mustang and badge?

Paul, I understand your point. And it's a good one. But the difference between a Shelby and a GT/CS or HCS is that the Shelby includes performance upgrades in addition to the appearance upgrades. No argument that the GT/CS package is an extensive, factory applied, Shelby inspired, damn...

HCS: Are they more than a special color Mustang and badge?

Your friend is basically correct. The GT/CS and HCS packages are appearance packages only. They might have come on cars that were GTs, or were not GTs. You could get the package on any engine size from a 6-cyl to 428 Cobra Jet. The GT/CS and HCS packages offered no performance enhancements...

I need your 1968 428CJ for a Mustang Times Article

Casey, A friend of mine owns a 1968.5 428 CJ convertible. Another friend of mine restored it recently (finished late last year). It's the only CJ convertible in 68 painted Gulfstream Aqua (they only made 34-CJ converts). Don't know if you need a convertible for your article or not, but I...

The Return of the GT/CS Window Decal!

I'd say the HCS is a regional Mustang, and the GT/CS is a regional Mustang...but not that the HCS is a regional GT/CS. If the HCS cars left San Jose as GT/CSs, then I'd say they were regional GT/CSs, but they didn't. They left without any GT/CS designation (no quarter panel scrips). The HCS...

    Trunk Filler Panels

I'm not sure what those are. They don't look like the normal black cardboard filler panels you see that go on the driver's side. The trunk shouldn't be painted black either. It should be body color. Scott

    Barrett Jackson cars

I tried out Paul's formula and with the rise in Shelby prices over the last few years I believe the averaging will not work for a GT/CS...at least not any more. It might have worked in the past but if I do some quick math now using Paul's estimator I get an average value for a 302 GT/CS of $40K...
