Opinion on color change: From Candyapple red to Royal Maroon

It's probably a mistake if you ever intend to sell it.

    Taillight Covers (Inside Trunk)

Thought I’d add some trunk information. The pinch seam luggage protectors came in either black or gray. I’ve seen both, but they seem to be predominately gray on 1968 Mustangs. As someone mentioned, they are held in place with yellowish glue. Some are notched and some are not. The trunk lid...

    Wood Shift Handle

I have a 1968 dealer accessory catalog and don't see any wood shift handles in it. I can't tell if the handle in question has a snake on it. Probably not, or you would have figured out it was Shelby. I know Cougars had lots of upgrades, might be from a Cougar. Looks good on the car though...

    Fog Light Grounding Questions

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I don't see anything like what is described on my HCS. Scott

    Emissions Testing - 1968?

Under hard acceleration, the vacuum motor allows more cold air to flow into the air cleaner by closing the air source from the "S"-tube. Yours should have a spring that allows the flap to default to the "open to the S-tube" position. By the way, it should not be painted like your is.

    Emissions Testing - 1968?

Arlie, Do you have any plugged or capped ports on the block at the rear of the intake manifold? Scott

    Emissions Testing - 1968?

Casey, You don't need to connect it if you just want the leave it the way it is. But normally it would be connected to a fitting at the rear of the intake manifold. See picture. You would need to add this fitting to yours. Scott

    Emissions Testing - 1968?

For cars built before 4/2/1968 there is a vacuum override motor attached to the underside of the mixing duct. It is connected to the rear of the intake manifold by a blue stripped rubber hose. Scott

Change of Color for GT/CS Diecast

Don, What sort of pre-order numbers are they looking for to justify the color? Maybe we could come up with enough through this website. If they'd get off their ass and make a few, maybe they'd sell them. Scott

    T Code GT/CS - What's it Worth?

In comparable condition, a 6-cyl will not be worth as much as a V-8, no matter how much gas costs. And big V-8s will always be worth more than small V-8s. I'm not saying that there aren't people that prefer one over the other (rather have a 390 than 428, rather have a 6-cyl than 8-cly), but...

    New Project Car

I missread your previous post. I was thinking your coupe was from San Jose. Does your car have holes drilled (with plugs) where the coating was sprayed in, or was it just applied underneath? The plugs are usually visible when the door is open. Scott

    New Project Car

Cool car. I know where there is a black 68 1/2 Cobra Jet convertible 4.30 4-speed car. You need that to go with yours. Now that would make a cool picture. Congratulations. Any idea why your San Jose car was undercoated? How original is it. Drivetrain? Smog? Ram Air stuff? Does it have...

Seeking historical background of my CS

Stacey, Getting the original dealer to help doesn't work very often, but sometimes it does. It often depends on how helpful they WANT to be. It's best to try to find a "real" car person at the dealership that can somewhat relate to what you are trying to do. And showing up at the dealership...

    Detailed Shelby

I'm surprised this car hasn't bid higher. Looks like a descent car. Lots of reproduction parts but that shouldn't hurt it much. I'd have thought this would be bidding into the low $200's at least. Jason, looks like I paid WAYYYYYYYYYY too much for mine. Don't tell my wife, I told her it was...

    Dust Rose '68 Fastback

Apparently they produced the color in 1967. Here's some info. Dusk Rose was a Standard Ford Mustang color, but only used in small amounts for a very short time (about 6 months). Mustangs that bear this color can be recognized by the 'S' color code on the Vehicle Data Plate, attached to the...
