    . anti-freeze leak

I had a timing chain cover that corroded once. The gasket surface looked good but there was a pinhole leak in the cover itself. I agree to check heater hoses, etc first but it's may take a bright light and some time under the car to trace it out. Steve

    1968 A little advice

I had pretty much the same problem with my right side vent. The black camera case veneer was missing. I haven't been able to find it anywhere, so finally put a '67 vent in that I got cheap. It doesn't stand out as much to most people as the naked '68 vent did. Steve

1968 Just recieved my Marti report

The buckets are the same but the Shelby's and T-Birds have a controller, commonly called a "dynamite stick" that plugs in between the main harness and bucket harness, that causes them to sequence. Steve

1968 Beating the heat! Any thoughts on radiators?

I can't speak to personal experience, but can pass on reports from the Sunbeam Tiger group I belong to. The Tiger is famous for overheating, and the concensus is to install an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. Aluminum sheds heat faster than copper and the electric fan runs at the same...

    1968 68 Headrests - where from?

The front of the bottom cushion is wrong, but that might be the way they uphostered it when it was recovered. It's just my opinon that it's been recovered, but it's not "stock". That's why I would have someone check it over carefully. The bottom seat cushion should look exactly like a '68. Steve

    1968 68 Headrests - where from?

Keep looking on craigslist, wrecking yards, etc. I found a set of junk 69 seats for $35.00/pr and a local upholstery guy is going to recover the headrests in my color for $75.00. I'm taking the upholstery off my seat backs and putting it on the '69 seat back and then will just save the frames...

    For Sale 390 GT/CS auto

Do you have a number in mind? The pics show a nice car, but without knowing more about it, like is it numbers matching, what was done to the drivetrain, suspension, etc., it's hard to know what you would consider "fair". Are trades an option or just cash? Steve

1968 Plans for drivetrain and parts list...

I would agree to do the whole engine at once and do it correctly. If you just can't swing it, I'd go 100% on the bottom end and use the old heads. It's easier to pull the heads off and have them worked over than to pull the whole engine out. Same with the transmission. You can do that at a later...

    1968 It's saved....

Tim, great artwork, as usual. On driving them, I drive whenever I can, and it's not enough. Unfortunately, where I work, several supervisors and managers have had their cars vandalized, so I stopped taking the older ones. It's more hassle getting them repaired than newer cars, and just not worth...

1968 Plans for drivetrain and parts list...

I wouldn't use used lifters either, because you want them to break in/seat to the camshaft. I also don't usually take any "seller stories" at face value. If they were still usable, why wouldn't Comp Cams sell them at a discount on their website? At best, they probably tossed them in the metal...

1968 Is this battery tray correct for a 1968 GT/CS

It's hard to tell. No part number, no box, only 1 poor quality picture. It looks like the sides aren't shaped right. No way I'd give $90 for it based on the ad. Steve
