    1968 Anyone got a pic of a 68 GTCS w/15" 10 spokes

Debating swapping the 14" Magnum 500s for a set. Not sure how they would look....

    . PS Pulley ID

The pulley is FoMoCo, stamped 5Z AIA... and a "C6" with a smaller "S2" under it. I can't find a reference. Anyone know what it might be from? Single sheave, and about 5 3/4" diameter. ? :undecided

    1968 Glove box detail...

Not really GT/CS related but more "68". I am finishing the EXP and installed the glove box door and latch. The one on the car (Dearborn build, May 68) has a stainless steel trim ring around the glove box button. None of my other 68's have it (all San Jose) I can not tell if it was a plant...

1968 What bulb for dash brake warning light?

Not the optional E-brake one, but the one connected to the distribution block switch. Not the same as the other dash illumination. I have looked in every ref I have and poked about on a few vendor sites and the interweb and can't find mention of it.... ???

    1968 Deluxe door pull bracket

I've misplaced my Body FAM somewhere, but recall seeing a small brace screwed to the door to hold the rear mount for the deluxe door pulls. Anyone got a photo of one installed, and even better, dimensions. Need to fabricate a pair.

1968 Tilt column door switch location

Not GTCS related, but for the EXP. Have an OEM tilt away in, and need to drill for the door switch. There appears to be a tiny dot/punch mark below the existing switch. Did not measure but maybe 1 - 1/2" down. Is this the correct location to drill? Anyone got a photo of a door jamb with the...

    1968 Taillight bulbs

Need a few for the EXP and noted a discrepancy in "the book". Calls out an 1156 in the text, but the picture notes 1157 printed on the bulb... I think its an 1157, but don't want to order the wrong parts. Anyone confirm the right part? ???

    1968 8r01c142589

65A W 2A 15B 71 2 W GT items, AC, some odd things in the photos (funky horns!), but looks reasonably "survivor-esque" in many ways... Not listed here...

1968 X codes and Registration errors...

Was searching for X code owners, and found it odd you can't seach the registry by engine. So went to the C6, as it would be limted to S and X codes. Surprisingly a number of C codes note the C6, was not aware this was an option with the 289. Are there any X code owners (or picture...

    1968 Engine bound up...

Well. the "repaint" on the GTCS has become a nightmare saga... latest issue, right at "the end"... Shop mechanic who put the engine/trans together failed to bolt the flywheel to the torque converter. No biggie, crank it by hand (even if doing it before installing is easier IMHO). No joy...

    1968 Vinyl roof seam location

Installed a top on my GT/CS a while ago and did not look at this too carefully. The seam on the vinyl roof fell about 2" down the pillar. Which seemed reasonable. Went to install a second top a few days ago and it is cut in such a way that the seam has to fall almost at the upper windscreen...

1968 Big thank you to franklinair

Neil kindly donated a pair of his GTCS dash/steering wheel badges to me. Arrived today all safe and sound... nice custom touches... Thanks Neil!!!

1968 C code air cleaner base stud

Can someone measure their carb stud, the one the wingnut goes on to hold the base/lid down. On mine I just put a correct carb I got on and the stud is 1" too tall. The tip is about 2 1/2" above the lid and the threads stop about 1" above the top of the lid... and yes, there is the ~1" spacer...

    1968 Distribution Block/Proportioning Valve Restoration

Have not seen a lot of info on this subject, and spent a few hours this evening tinkering with a few I have ... will use the best for the EXP repli-bute. In order to get the "innards" out of the block and valve I have seen posts on heat, banging on a block of wood and other such means. I...

    1968 PS Pulley for a 68 289

Have a box full of pulleys and have mixed them up, do not recall which came off the GTCS... I think it is a 7AE (289, no AC) I also have a 7AA, 6AA, and a couple AF's... Can anyone confirm the 7AE?

1968 Ground strap and battery negative wire routing

Where does the grommet/"J clip" that bolts to the block attach on a C code? (image courtesy National Parts Depot) Anyone got shots down the side of the engine (know its a difficult area to get good photos of) showing the routing of the ground and starter wire. Seem to run real close to...

    1968 Tie rod ID

Have 4 off my '68 X code (not a GTCS and becoming the EXP repli-bute, not a reprobate, like me! ). The inner had the metal lipped dust boot (no number on them) and lipped edge around the ball joint. The outer the lipped edge too, but just rubber boots with a spring inside, but a very...

1968 Emergency brake under car parts - finish?

Thought these were all S2, but just stripped gunk off a 68 "lever arm" (the part that attaches to the body pin with the big washer and clip) and it appears to be silver zinc. What is the correct finish for the lever arm, "U" shaped clip to connect body clip to the wire on the RH side, and the...
