    California Mod Mustang

Dont know how many of you make it over to the mustangs68 web site, but there was a recent find of a 1968 newspaper ad for a mustang called the California Mod Mustang from an east coast dealer. Looks like all they did was put the GT/CS stripes on the car, but it does make it look a bit like a...

Little info on a 428 CS from another site

I have sent a detailed quote request into Kevin Marti over a month ago for this and also for information that Paul and I put together that will help Paul's new book. I contact them once a week to find out when they will give me a quote. Every time I call or email I am told that Kevin will get...

    Another one gets away ...

For Cal Spec specific parts - Tony Branda or eBay. For all other parts common to all 68's, just about any mustang dealer. Larry's Mustang, John's Mustang, Mustangs Unlimited, NPD, CJ Pony. And several more. They have all been good to me. Branda is on the expensive side, but carrys the parts...

I have been bugging Kevin for the last month (once a week) to give me a quote - I emailed him a detailed RFQ, which Paul refined, about a month ago. I am told he will answer me when he is ready. As soon as I know something, I will let you know. Casey

Real or Fake California Special ? ? Help

Squids, What engine does your CS have, and what color is it? Have you registered it (registering can be done from this site)? I would love to see a picture of the original sales receipt if you can post it here. We love to see this kind of stuff from original vehicles. Thx, Casey

    Tail light bulbs

Go LED. They are so easy, and bright. There are many LEDs on one board, and the red tail panel diffuses the light (NOT like these rice burners that you can see each LED). I use them, and even bought the sequential type from MustangProjects. They are the best route to go - and several on the...

    2005 Registry Update Thread

The trunk lid is notorious for popping up quickly because it is fiberglass, where the non-GTCS were metal. The lower weight of the fiberglass lets the springs push hard and fast. Not a determination of a GTCS, but certainly a possible symptom that many have. Casey

    Stolen air filter!

Wow - and they left the hood locks? They are probably more valuable than the air cleaner. I have a Viper alarm system on mine that will blow your ear drums if you open the hood (it uses a mercury switch). I am more afraid someone is going to come by, twist the locks off and take them. Sorry...

    Need Help Troubleshooting

I had a similar problem where the wire to my starter got too close to the header (those things are hot!), started burning through, and eventually shorted out. I replaced the starter before I noticed the problem. A zip tie pulled to get the wire away from the header did the trick. Maybe worth...

    Picking up the car today

I bought mine site unseen and had it shipped - didnt see it till it got to my house - I paced the floor for an hour before it arrived. I can tell you in my case it exceeded my expectations. (of course, I did my homework...asked the questions, got the pictures, etc.). Let us know how it goes...
