Mike - That's ok. I am glad you got the book. I received mine in the mail, and I read it cover to cover right away. I have to say that it was worth it, and it sure shows how much of Paul's life has been devoted to this great car. It makes me feel that much more priveleged to have Paul answer...
If you are not stuck on the stock air cleaner, the shelby "cobra" air cleaner is much thinner (it was an option with other shelby options, like valve covers, etc). That is what I have on my 66 and it just barely fits under the hood, and looks great. Casey
Doug, thanks again. I also checked Paul's book, but neither of the lists show center console. I guess it is still possible a dealer could add a center console. Casey
Saw the thread about argent wheels. Made me wonder - what were typical dealer installed options? Just about anything? For example, my marti report does not list center console or rear window defogger, but the car has both. Casey
My 66 convertible is: MY SWT 66. My laser red 00 GT convertible is: RD PONY. Haven't gotten plates for the 68 GT/CS yet (waiting for car to arrive on its trek from CA to IL at end of Nov), but you all are givng me good ideas. Casey
I recently got a Marti report, and it lists a dealer number, 71E038, but not the dealer name/location. I do know the original owner lived in Pasadena, so the dealer would likely be in that area. Is there a way to find the dealer name? I saw a few earlier postings on the subject, but none of...
Yep, that was me over the weekend. After reading on the forum that the prices were getting steep, I put in a fairly high bid so I would not have to keep bidding.....hoping it would stay under $100, but it went over. Good news is I got a Shelby book with it too.
Still looking for Paul's later book.
I dont have Paul's book, but was wondering - how were CT/CS's built? Were they built on the same line as other 68's, or a separate line? The history section of this site says that Shelby Automotive was involved - and I was wondering how involved they were. It appears they were not involved in...
I have the build sheet, but dont know where to look for the CS option. It does not say anywhere else on the sheet anything about CS. Maybe that is your point that one has to know what to look for on the build sheet to figure out if it is CS? Or can only a Marti report tell you? (presumably...
Can you tell if a vehicle is a CS from the build sheet? I have read in the forum that you cannot tell from just the VIN, but if the build sheet were available, I wondered if this would tell you (and where on the build sheet it would tell you).
Hello, I saw this 66 HCS on ebay, can anyone tell if it is a legitimate HCS (from a registry?). I have done vin plate decoder and it appears legitimate from a decoder (special order, denver, san jose, right date...etc).
Thanks,
Casey
Hello, I am new to this forum. I own a 66 convertible, and in searching for a coupe on ebay came across an HCS which led me to this forum.
The HCS on ebay was not quite the shape I was looking for. If anyone has a 66 HCS they would like to sell that is already in restored (driver - not...
