Yep, the problem with any listing of "correct" is it is a static list... should really be advertised as "as suggested by Ford planning" as I've seen some really wild stuff from the factory that is so "incorrect" its amazing....

    1966-67 HCS air cleaner snout

You need to get it hotter than ambient to move the flap. It will stay shut at below 100F.... Fire up a propane torch and wave it around about a foot from the end of the snorkel for a minute or three... that should show if it works or not... I have tested many, and have never found one that...

As there is no "correct" its really kinda moot. IMO I'd just buy the cheapest pair as paying a premium for a period correct part that is not really correct seems a waste. That said, see this link http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10429

Yep, they dropped one digit. Would seem very odd for someone to have pulled or repalced them and stamped the partial wrong the same way on replacements.. Just one of those things.... was posted more to show locations. As noted they were cranking these out at a high rate and it would be very...

    1966-67 HCS air cleaner snout

Initially the flap should block the main inlet allowing warm air up from the manifold. As the bulb warms a wax filling melts and expands, it forces the arm out and lowers the flap allowng cool air in the amin inlt, bypassing the riser. A minute or two with a propane torch from a ways back to...

Use one of these... http://rccinnovations.com/index.php?show=menu-hrk-all Really nice kits. Plug and play and with a little ingenuity you can hide the whole thing. And easily go back to stock if you want to. Nice thing is a plug-and-play if a relay goes out and you need the lights you can...

1968 Vin # on engine block

It does a bit, but its just skewed and there is very light marking on the block when you see it up close and in person... Interesting they missed a digit in both, but both exactly the same string... I chalk it up to a line error, as I can't see a PO stamping an almost correct number on both...

    1968 Tips on installing stripes...

Thanks again. Interesting on the front dimension, anyone else have the same issue? On the lid, what weatherstrip did you use? Branda sells a 68 Shelby convertible one that seems a lot softer than the NPD I have... forget the brands. Maybe it will help if the one you have is really that...

1968 Drum brake distribution block rebuild

Ordered a "new" block from WCCC. Shuttle/valve was really stuck so took the end lines and: - crimped one - drilled and tapped the other to take a zerc fitting - whacked on the grease gun and popped the sucker out in 5 seconds, after a half hour of tapping, tweaking, banging on a wood block...

    1968 MCA Judging Sheets

You misread my post. I said the members do not even get access to the details the judges use. Only the basic guildelines unless judged, then they get thier sheet... Maybe this is incorrect, but what I have been told by numerous MCA members. Proprietary Info (or intellectual property) is...

    1968 MCA Judging Sheets

So Marty. I have to ask why is so much "known" knowledge taught to Judges by rote (I guess) not documented for the members to use? The excuse its too hard to write down is a bit suspect, as that implies memorization from verbal sources is better. I would tend to disagree. No one would...
