    . a matter of conscience

Hmmm.... pretty bland post for the knee-jerk "I'm outta here" reaction. So Paul's a lightning rod, nothing new. Just ignore him... no need to drop to his level... best to stick to facts. However, I do have concerns about ANY individual posting and claiming to represent this forum, unless a...

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

Think the AC hoses referred to are the 2" (or so) insulated ones with the plastic "snap-clips"... on that note the brackets to support them are also not reproduced, AFAIK. Does anyone have a photo of those brackets, look fairly simple, so to fabricate a functional replacement shuldn't be too...

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

As noted it relates to "some" info on the use of aluminum (York) vs. cast iron (Tecumseh) compressors, and lists some non-Shelby service replacement numbers that may help the OP identify the compressor they have...

    . Roll call

Plain Jane C code, C4. Vinyl roof is about the most "exotic" option... a "semi-survivor" as I call it. One family car in Cal, bought by a guy in Oz to flip, to me... Regular driver, due to space issues keep outside with a cover. A good "10 footer". Due for some TLC. Planning on pulling...

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

Per a couple references I have they call out Tecumseh (rounder profile) as cast iron (bricks) for "primarily" 65-67 and Yorks (square profile) as aluminum "intermittently" from 65-70.... A thread with a tiny bit of info. http://saacforum.com/index.php?topic=9500.0 So are you sure the cast...

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

Nope... it's on the web, comes up in a yahoo image search (not even Google!) , and is not on a copyrighted site! But you have my gratitude for posting it!

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

On the compressor, I'd guess if folks are selling remanufactured units, someone is making parts... just posted links I found on the web, but do recall seeing references to aluminum, not sure of where or when they may have been used.

On the compressor not sure if this is relevant or not... https://americanpony.cybrhost.com/store.mv?p=802430 http://willyfogg.com/search/1965-69-mustang-york-roto-lock-air-conditioning-compressor/?autoredirect=1...

1968 What has been the hardest part to get for your GT/CS ?

The bracket the light mounts to that rivets into the grille. AFAIK different to the 68 GT fog bracket. The black bracket behind the fog light in this pic (snagged from the web). If you've got a pair I'm interested...

    '68 Fastback and GTCS

Yep, its a vague description and as alluded to "one man's trash..." As noted, to get a more accurate value details of the car would be required, one man's "restoration" is anothere average paint job. And the buyers interests can dictate a varaible price range. But there are far too many...

    '68 Fastback and GTCS

"driver", not restored... very different category. I assumed a #4 or #3 car. I passed on 3 or 4 cars at 14-16k-ish a while ago that were #2 or #3's.... as noted in the notes in the link most "shown" cars are #3's, most folks overrate condition. A #3 is a VERY nice car. A 289/c4 low option...

    1968 Seat Belt

All I can say is when SO did mine it was about $400 for a set (this was about 6-ish years ago IIRC). Belts came back after requesting thier "concors correct" restoation. No lables, no plastic sleeves. When I questioned them the reply was pretty much "oh, well.... you can pay to send them...

    1968 Seat Belt

A 40 year old belt is suspect. Contact Stuart at Python... he can set you up with very high quality repros. I paid way more for Ssnake-oyl before finding Python, and the quality of Python was far superior to SO (no lables, no plastic sleeves) at about half the price... a few years ago...

    '68 Fastback and GTCS

C code C4 in driver condition 10-12k tops... fastback 15-20. One-of-40 don't mean much in most cases as a elite Marti can probably get more Mustangs then not to near that number by how they juggle the numbers to get the result... and the bench seat was not a high number item but not desireable...
