1968 What paint for the Lucas tube stands?

I believe Jester's grille surround has been polished. I've seen it before. My GT/CS surround centre piece (at the bottom) was polished, but the rest of the surround was black. My shop painted the hardware, grille and surround. Looks great!

1968 What paint for the Lucas tube stands?

I obtained the light hardware from Bob Teets and had a local shop paint the grille and hardware. The GT/CS book specifies Dark Grey Metallic as the colour. My shop did a web search and came up with PPG 34219 Semi gloss Medium Titanium Poly as being the closest match. It turned out great...

    1968 Hood Pins Yet Again

Thanks. When I bought the car, the springs were hanging on the lock post BELOW the hood. As a result, the twist locks were tight to the washer above the hood, and I have become accustomed to that look.

    1968 Hood Pins Yet Again

Having reassembled the hood pins so that the spring is between the twist lock and washer, I noticed that the hood sheet metal was being pulled down considerably around the lock. I have readjusted the retainers following the GT/CS book, but then found that the twist locks sat quite high from the...

1968 Time for a drive its my Specials build date today

I love it! I was lucky enough to get both my Mustangs out on their build day this year. My 7-Up Car was built March 9,1990, and the GT/CS on March 15, 1968. Both days were nice and the roads clean and dry. Enjoy the drives!!

    1968 Oil change query...

I always thought that the dirty appearing oil was the result of old school carburation. My 90 5.0 with EFI doesn't do it.

    1968 Oil change query...

As Neil said, use a Ford filter FL-1A. I use 4 litres of GTX 10/30 plus a 500 ml bottle of EOS (engine oil supplement) to make up for the zinc that has been removed from the oil.
