    1968 New family project

I had a good weekend of work on the HCS. I got the floors and seat pedestals welded in, repaired that nasty hole hacked in the drivers door and rebuilt all four door hinges. At least it is not a Flintstone car any more.

I wonder if it damaged the oil pan and pick up tube starving it for oil? Oink-and run that is a good one!

    1968 Hawaiian GT/CS

More great history and answers. I suspect some one along the way to us kept the original engine because we got a trashed block that did not match the cars VIN. Boy I hope some day you find those plats and frame. I made a offer on those NOS ones but they turned it down. Yes it is cold but good...

    1968 New family project

Thank you. We reserve this kind of restoration only for rare or special car and even then it is so easy to get upside down in them. This one is pushing the limits of how far we would go to save one. But it is a one of 251 HCSs and it is a J code GT plus a great color that makes it worth saving...

Thanks Ron! I never imagined that they could be found. We will have to see if dad wants to pony up. That is a lot.

CSI ah. In the many hours it takes to repair a car like this it gives you a lot of time to think and wonder how it all happened. I wish the original owner or owners would find me and tell me the story of this cars life. I am sure it would be a dozy. Marty

    1968 New family project

Here is a project update. We had it blasted to remove the paint and rust. This car has had a hard life, I found a bulge in the floor under the rear seat and found that the rear wheel must have hit a curb and drove the rear torque box inward 1/2 inch. That must have rolled the car crushing the...

Jeree, Your dad must have been a lot of fun. Your stories made me laugh. It was great to hear how the damaged occurred on the car. Often when I am making repairs I wonder what the story was and how it happened. Now we know. I am curious if you put the extended spring shackles on? Also was the...

For Sale All Original? Lime Gold GT/CS

Thanks good to know. I am a MCA gold card judge and I get to judge some unrestored cars. I enjoy looking at them and can learn much from them. You would be surprised how many original paint cars we find that are full or partial repaints. That is a huge deduction in that class. The owners get...

For Sale All Original? Lime Gold GT/CS

I only have the picture on EBay to judge by. I saw chips with a different shad of green down the drivers rocker panel. Just had the look of a repaint. Did not mean to offend you. Marty

It looks like a repaint to me. But still is a nice original car.

    1968 Presidential Blue Color Formula

I can look at the color codes on dads GTCS I just posted if you like it. I think it is pretty close. We went through several tests before we chose that one. Marty

Here are some current photos. They are not the best as it is not a great day to be out side in Nebraska. Hope they bring back some memory's. Marty

    1968 Hawaiian GT/CS

Hi Jeree, Here are some more photos of the car as we got it and some of the restoration process. I will try to get some current ones soon. Do you have any thing else from the car but the warrantee card? If you ever get in the Omaha NE. area come and see us. Who know we might go for a ride in...

ADMIN Forums just underwent a minor software upgrade. Photo uploads now working again.

Hey Jon thanks for all that you do for us. I am very grateful and wonder if there is any need for funding for the site? If so do not be afraid to ask for some help, I for one would be glad to pitch in a little help. Marty
