    1968 Deluixe Door Pull Straps

Sorry Richard I did not understand what you were asking. No it is not hard to convert a standard door to the deluxe, but it is a lot easier with a pattern. Especially if you are cutting the speaker holes. Get off 1/4 of a inch and the hole will show and the crying begins. Marty

Check with Tony Branda. But ask for the manufacturer from who ever you call.

    1968 Deluixe Door Pull Straps

I do not have a old MPC but the discussion on a concoursmustang.com thread leads me to believe that there was a separate deluxe door. The holes for the light and grill appear to be punched but if it had speakers those holes were cut. Marty

Did you use a Drake weather strip? If so you will never get it closed. Carpenter makes one that is much softer and made the difference in the HCS.

Yes it is C8ZB-6522606 If needed I dig mine out for a pic. It shows a good drawing in the assembly manual.

    1968 Deluixe Door Pull Straps

Here is a deluxe door but is striped. There is a extra bracket for one end of the pull strap. Arlie is correct you must move one of the arm rest mounts but there is a factory hole for it. Sorry I did not have a better picture. Marty

Rob working on others cars is difficult because you have to work with what they bring you and do what they ask even if it is not the best thing. I admire you determination to do it as best as can be done. The work on the Shelby has been tough for me because we do not have the $$$ to restore it...

    1968 Trunk CS stripe application

It can be challenging because you can not use soapy water, you must do it dry to follow the arc. Mark it out and take your time.

    1968 Grille trim oddity...

Richard it takes a special very flat head screw and tinnerman nut. 378178-S39 These screws are the same as used on the hood molding and wheel openings. If you think this was fun just wait till you try to a line a reproduction narrow grill opening molding. You will soon know why the NOS sell for...

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

Ford licensed only means that they paid the fee. IMHO I do not think Ford cares about the quality only that they get their cut.

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

That is interesting Mike I will have to check that out on the next unrestored GTCS I look at. That means that the stripes went on pretty early in the assembly. I do know for sure that the stripes did not wrap the scoop on the HCS because the scoop stripe was not applied untill it reached a 51...

1968 Side stripe install... what a PITA....

Here is what we did. I do not believe the Ford wrapped the stripe around the scoop or on the front of the fender. It is belter but I do not think they would have taken the time. Marty
