Tim he is a lucky guy to fly such a sleek aircraft. In the approch picture it really shows what a clean profile it has with gear and flaps up.

Yes I do most of my own work. Those husband wife projects can be a bit tricky. My wife and decided we want to stay together so we do not hang wallpaper together. Here are a couple of pics of a log home that I remodeled two years ago. Fitting cabinets and trim to log is a pain but I am sure that...

    1968 Aftermarket door shells

We used a after market door on a 64 1/2 convertabile. I was not very good we put more work in to making it work than it would have taken to have fixed the old door. Nothing is better than Ford! Marty

1968 Original "X" code california special w/ Tach?

It certainly looks to me likely that the tach cluster was added. When you get in to the restoration and if you want to make everything correct let me know and I can give you a guy's name that can change your harness over to a tach one. Your car looks like a real solid start and with a little...

1968 Original "X" code california special w/ Tach?

Hi Jim I have been thinking about the tach in your car. It is a big deal to add all the correct harnesses. If some one just added the tach cluster you might look for a extra single wire to the voltage regulator and possibly one to the coil for the tach signal. Do the Alt light and oil pressure...

1968 Original "X" code california special w/ Tach?

The tach option was not part of the GT-CS option or any other option. It was was a option of its self. Two things are posible a early owner added it or Marti Auto missed it on your report. Very nice car welcome to the site. Marty

    HiPo Exhaust Manifolds

That's right by using the gasket the manifold temp is much hotter resulting in warped and broken manifolds. The MCA deducts for the use of gaskets. I machine mine then paint the engine surfaces with the engine paint and the manifold surfaces with the manifold paint and use antiseize on the studs...

    Scott Drake Lower Control Arms

I had heard that there was problems with them but did not know what they were. I have found many of the Scott Drake products to be quility suspect. I think went for the money and took his manufacturing to China and gave up the quility that gave him his start. Thanks for the tip. Marty

    1968 GTCS prices

A very well restored car will most often will bring high dollars because it costs that or more to do one right. A lot of buyers know that and bid accordingly.

    1968 Ford Quality # 1 ???

I thought you might like to see the precision mounting holes for my HCS LH quarter scoop! Kind of goes to show the unique GT-CS & HCS holes were not prepunched. I sanded most of the day on Saturday if we stay on schedule it should be painted around January 8-10. Yippee

Anyone Looking for a '68 Convertible?

You know this rear axel question has bugged me all weekend. I read through all stuff I had and found that the 9 inch axel is defiantly not part of the GT equiptment group but thought it may have been included with the J code option. I looked and looked and could not find anything to substantiate...
