Rear valance cut for dual exhaust? Was this an option?

Pippin - was your car originally a 289 from the factory? As Casey stated ... The GT option was not available on a 289 car. You had to have at least a 302 or higher for the GT option. You also had to have ordered Power Disc brakes with the 390 I believe to order the GT package. Also - I don't...

Hood Locks in 68 CS Commercial??

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I just noticed something in the 68 commercial I never noticed before. The hood locks in the 68 commercial on the beach have some kind of metal ring or base under the hood locks. It makes them look like the early 70 hood locks. If this was discussed...

    390 X-code on eBay

I thought it was odd to run this car if it is a true 390 CS as a No Reserve auction and start at such a low starting bid, but maybe that's just me. I found something interesting in the GT/CS commercial I never noticed before. I'll post that in another thread.

What are prices and availability for Tailight Assembies?

Feb 13th is still pretty early thought isn't it? Timeline on the site has Feb 1-10 having the original prototype cars built for the unveiling and production not starting until Feb 17th. The Feb 13th date drops it in between those timeframes.

    40th GT/CS - HCS Anniversary

Hi Casey, I've been exchanging emails with Carlisle - nothing definite yet. I'm planning on going to Carlisle either way whether they honor the CS/HCS cars or not. Hope there is a decent turnout. Can be an informal gathering place for the east coast crowd and others nearby. I haven't...

What is your GT/CS' worst servicing headache?

There was a whole thread on this on the Vintage Forum site last month. It's a real pain! I find better luck at certain gas stations. One day a young girl that works at a station near me came running out and is jumping around saying "I just want to tell you I LOVE your car!! It's so nice...

I believe the fact that Shelby pulling out was before all this latest news. They indicated they were going to ending the licensing agreement because of people waiting too long after leaving their deposit on cars, not due to the VIN/Title issues. Of course it's possible they were suspicious...

    Engine Impact to Value

Interesting... this guy says a non-original engine can impact value up to 50% (lower) That sounds like a lot to me. I guess if you're looking for concours but I know people on this site have swapped out and upgraded engines and I don't think the value of their cars have dropped 50%...

    Engine Impact to Value

I'm still waiting to hear from the owner - he has my number. All I know is that's an automatic with a 4bbl which to me means it's not the 302 it's at least a 351. I guess I'm just trying to gauge, assuming the same as original or bigger engine ... does that impact value greatly ... or is it...

    Engine Impact to Value

This is a non-GT/CS question but a Mustang/Car question in general. I got a lead on a 71 Mach I that's for sale by the original owner. The initial pictures show the car to be in decent shape. I found out about it 3rd person from someone in my Mustang club. I am waiting to talk to the owner...

I didn't think the issue at hand was whether or not they are original Shelbys. I thought part of the investigation was was related to "title washing". Basically, taking a salvaged vin to another state to title it so that it not longer shows salvaged. And the switching of VINs
