    1968 Gas Tank Capacity

I know for sure that there were no options on fuel capacity. I do know that a 69 tank is 20 gal. and will bolt right in. Most likely it was changed some where along the line. Some times in Wyoming or Nevada I wish I had 4 more gallons but most of the time the old blatter needs a rest near the...

Agreed. I had not seen Arlie's post, he posted while I was posting mine. Certainly the GT-CS information will be useful. Marty

    1968 GT/SC inline six with a 4 speed?

No need for a Marti report in this case. As Scott said there is no way any 68's were built with 4spds. Marty

    Stripes Paint Or Decals

Here is one that is not too bad. If you need a better shot let me know. This picture from the 68 show room broacher shows the front start point nicely. This one from this forum shows a original GT-CS accent stripe termination. Marty

1966-67 HCS Johnnie Harper dealer badge?

I have a couple of coffee cans with mostly metal tags (another hobby) 'cause I look for ( only Colorado) dealer tags, mostly Ford but others, too at junkyards and swap meets. Bob do you have anything from Bill Goodro Ford in Denver for our 68 HCS? I would love to find a drive off tag or frame...

1968 Painting doors and hinges help

Yes you can adjust the door window. It is best to follow the procedure in the 68 Ford service manual. It is too much to type here. Marty

    Stripes Paint Or Decals

It was a option. I recall it cost $13.90. When I got our car it had been repainted with out the accent stripe. I was not sure if I would put it back on. I finely decided to put it on and I am glad I did. Marty

    Stripes Paint Or Decals

Jim the accent stripe was Ford's term for pen stripe. Here is a picture of our HCS with a accent stripe. Marty

The GT-CS stripes were Vinyl as were the GT stripes. The accent stripe was paint. Marty

    . Photo Your Winter Fun

Arlie, That was bad! The exhaust gasket is partly to blame. Ford never used exhaust gaskets because they wanted the heat in the exhaust manifold to be cool with the head. This is even a bigger problem with six cil. engines. I plain both surfaces, paint them, bolt and tork and never have any...

    1968 Rechromed 67 Rear Bumper

just make sure the bumper guards (if applicable) are correct 68's 68-68 rear bumper gards were the same. Marty

    1968 Rechromed 67 Rear Bumper

Yes a Ford rechrome bumper is a ton better than the reproduction. Much better chrome and best of all it will fit like Ford intended. The 68's use a C7 part #s. unless the part was changed the part number stayed the same. The difference would be in the date code. That can be found in the center...
