1968 Intake manifold bolts keep coming loose

On the exhaust manifold I have had trouble keeping them tight too. The down side to using ss bolts. I ended replacing mine with the correct ramp lock bolts mainly because it is a MCA concours car. You might try tab locks on the ss bolts. Marty It must have been too late when I posted that. I was...

    1968 Yakima show/Scott's 428 CJ GT/CS

Jon is right it must be a error. May be the guy that did the stamping used the R so little he could not find it when he got the chance to use it. It would be interesting to see if it is missing on the fender aprons and door tag. Marty

    Wanted 67 aqua steering wheel

I am restoring a 67 sprint convertible. It is frost turquoise ext. and white top. Interior is standard aqua. I am looking for a good used aqua steering wheel (at least restorable) or NOS steering wheel. May consider a deluxe wood grain wheel if the $ are not too much. Thanks Marty

    1968 Carburetor Question

Jon at Pony carburetors has a good fix for the autolite 4300. I think it runs just under $300 plus everything is replated to look like new. Marty

1968 Brake light issue with lights on

The Information in Rob's thread is good. I would add before you start pulling out wires make a drawing of the plug note all the pin locations and wire colors. I run a pull wire through and use some electrical tape all the wires to it. Be sure to spread them around so it is a tapered bundle. A...

    1968 side mirror question

All our cars that have operating mirrors had it listed as optional on the Marti report. 68 production started in September, so I don't think a 67 style would have been used in January. Most orignal door panels were stamped for the remote and vinyl was not cut. This aided the dealers that added...

    1968 side mirror question

Thats right Casey. I have installed them on the RH side they look nice but are so small the are not much help. probably why you don't see it that often. Marty MCA 38812

    1968 side mirror question

The standard mirror was the rectangular one with out inside control. The only optional mirrors were chrome as Bret described. It is possible a dealer installed sport mirrors in 69 but that would still be considerd incorrect by the Mustang Club of America rules. Marty MCA 38812
