    1968 "Original Miles"

Ford did not use the grommets on the dimmer switch. That is a dedection in the MCA. I think you have a very nice starting point for a restoration. Because of the condition it really does not matter if it has 30K or 130K. Because of the repaint it could not be considered a unrestored car in the...

    1968 The gas station

If you are ever in Springfield IL. there is a real good one there that is open to the public. I think it might be on route 66. Marty

1968 Brake light issue with lights on

If you have some test leads, wires with clip clamp on the ends. You can find a good ground point and clamp to it, clamp the other end to tail light bucket. See if that improves the bulb brightness. At least you will know if it is a ground issue. I would put money on the turn switch. I just...

    1968 I love FORD!

I heard that Ford may offer MCA members their employee X plan. I do not know if it is true, but would be nice if you were in the market. Marty

    . Another good book

I got a book from my daughter for my birthday called Mustang Special Editions. Some of you may have seen it as it has a 2006 date. It has a nice chapter on California Specials and one on HCS. It was authored by Brad Bowling and Jerry Heasly. It has a chapter on sprint Mustangs where I was...

    1968 Engine Vibration

Wow! I would have never guessed that given how many Pertronix units I have used. That one is allways the killer when it is the new part. Thank goodness you had not pulled the transmission yet. Thanks for the tip. Marty

It's a concours trailered car but I did put the top down and took them for a ride. There is a lot more to this story, I'll post it when it comes out in the Mustang Times. Marty

Papa John's founder pays $250K for beloved Camaro

About a month ago the editor of the Mustang Times was spending the weekend with us and was going to do a photo shoot on our 67 GTA convertible. Saturday evening the door bell rang and it was two ladies, who asked if I was Marty Rupp. I said yes and they showed me a picture in a 67 year book of a...

    In California last week

I hope you and others on this site will give the MCA a real dose of GT-CS and HCS. I'll tell my good freind Johnnie Garner the assistant national head judge he had better brush up on the GT-CS part of the rules. I sure wish I could be there. We are planning to go to Bellevue WA. for the MCA...

1968 High Country Special J-code project on E bay

There are some real good reproductions that are year specific. They even offer the early 68 with the inset reflector. I think it is still best to save as much of the original as possible. I did a car with my son that we epoxyed the quarters on, it worked well we had no distortion from the...

1968 High Country Special J-code project on E bay

That car has seen some salt like most of the cars around the midwest. Often gos up the outer lip of the wheel house and thats a tough repair without replacing the quarter. Still not a bad starting point. Marty
