I got a book from my daughter for my birthday called Mustang Special Editions. Some of you may have seen it as it has a 2006 date. It has a nice chapter on California Specials and one on HCS. It was authored by Brad Bowling and Jerry Heasly. It has a chapter on sprint Mustangs where I was surprised to see the car my teacher got when I was in the 4th grade, a 1966 Sahara Beige coupe. It still has only 7,000 on it. I also think the red HCS in the HCS chapter is our car when Bob Teets owned it. It was cool to get a book and see cars you know in it.

I just picked up this book myself a couple of months ago. It's a great to see an entire book of just the special edition Mustangs. It includes almost all of them, like the Ski Country Special, 67 Stallion, 68 Cardinal Edition, 68 Golden Nugget Special, etc.

For the most part it's accurate, although I still can't believe how often the GT/CS and HCS cars get described in print as having sequential tail lights. Whoever started that rumor sure has done a good job ingraining it in author's heads.

It even lists www.californiaspecial.com as a source for a couple of chapters. Too bad they didn't email all of us to proof read the article before it got printed!

...But they are sequential. All my turn signals go:
Normal dim BRIGHT,
Normal dim BRIGHT,
Normal dim BRIGHT....
