    1968 Side Emblem Screw Holes

Rob asked me a question the other day that caught me completely flat-footed so I'm cheating and asking if anyone here knows the answer, while he's at his lake cabin! Do our GT/CSs have screw holes for the regular 1968 side emblems under the scoops?

    1968 Correct grille color?

    SEM 39263 or NPD's AP-SSW 65-67 wheel paint are good matches http://californiaspecial.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10801

    1968 gas in trunk?

I go a little overboard on the security thing and replace my coil wire with a dummy coil wire. My concern with just pulling the coil wire is that someone can unhook a spark plug wire and use it as the coil wire. A dummy wire should frustrate a thief and hopefully make him give up.

    1968 PS Pulley for a 68 289

Mike, Here is what I found on Page 8-51 of Bob Mannel's book, "...two pulleys were used in 1968. The smaller pulley measured 4.6" and was marked 7AE. It was used without A/C. The larger pulley was used with A/C and measured 5.0". It was stamped 7AD." There is also a chart of Page B-14 and...

It sold for $33,000 plus an 8% fee so the buyer paid $35,640. Auction prices for nice examples of C-codes seem to be fairly consistant at $30,000 - $35,000

    1968 289 engine recommendation

You may be over-thinking this. It's easy to get a correct intake and it should bolt right on, unless Ford made some casting changes in the '70s. Have you decided to use a 4V or 2V carb? The crank pulley bolts probably are different but unless the engine is out of the car no-one can...

    1968 Summer trip planning

If you're traveling at 70mph or so you'll be running over 2600rpm (depending on your gearing and tire size) so for the first few fuel stops you may want to check the oil to see how much you're using. Believe it or not I take all of the following on my trips: - Gallon of 50/50 antifreeze -...
