    1968 Carb Spacer

Tom, Do you have the original style valve covers and air cleaner or are they aftermarket? Here is how the hose connects to the valve cover through the PCV valve.

    1968 Carb Spacer

Tom, If you're not using the spacer and that associated vacuum port how are you depressurizing the valve covers? One side has a vented oil fill cap, but what's on the other side?

Here is a photo of a new slider from Neil.

    1968 Console Shifter Issue

From the photo on the right it looks like the black slide is too short and it hits on the chrome bezel. Is the slide supposed to be tucked under something or is it installed correctly...

    1968 Console Shifter Issue

Might the slide be upside down? Attached is a photo of Steve's console. And a photo of the console from Road Warrior 1 when I removed it.

    1966-67 HCS Let's talk BRAKES

If you convert to disc brakes you pretty much need to add a power booster. It's not a true requirement but you won't believe how much pressure it takes to stop a non-assisted disc brake car!

    1968 Odds-N-Ends

Here are the consoles Neil restored for my car. The upper console had been black, but he changed it to Nugget Gold. He also replaced the light assemblies & switches, and applied the woodgrain. The lower console was blue, and it's now Nugget Gold, too. He cleaned the selector light jewels &...

    1966-67 HCS engine numbers

There should be a date code above the engine code. The attached photo is of an engine from one of my old cars (obviously not numbers matching). I think it was built May 23rd, 1966. This is a great website for deciphering codes. http://www.mustangtek.com/block/Block.html Your engine is a...

    1966-67 HCS engine numbers

I think engine VIN stamping started in 1968 but I won't swear to it.

    1968 Odds-N-Ends

I was wondering how you were going to stay busy. The two consoles you restored for me look great!

1968 Under hood wire feed question

Yes, it unplugs under the dash. I found it best to remove the gauge cluster and HVAC controls to get to the connections.

    1968 Clones that Don't Suck!!!

I like the red one. It even has witness lines on the scoops and no black paint on the tail light bezels! If it runs as well as it looks I think $16K is quite reasonable especially as a daily driver or road trip car.

    1968 Trunk light?

That may be the remnants of an alarm system. Does it look something like this?

1968 Roof Console and Headliner qn

It's not easy but it is possible to install a console without removing the headliner. One of the magazines ran a how-to on that a few years ago. I'll see if I can find it. It may be in the July 2004 Mustang Monthly.

    1968 Next project

That's what I was thinking! There suddenly is a need for someone to sign those.
