    J-code GT Convertible

Nope. It ended up at $19,933. I'm pretty sure he won't sell it for less than $25K.

    1968 My 68 GT/CS build has begun

On the last one I worked on I installed the tail light lenses and bezels on the panel off the car and assembled the entire panel as one unit. The metal tail light covers are screwed on from the outside with a bead of sealant around the edges. On many GT/CSs the sealant is visible from inside...

    1968 Engine tag decipher

The partial VIN is on top of the block, behind the intake manifold. The transmission is at the bottom of the photo and the intake is at the top.

Have you checked the engine VIN, behind the intake manifold?

1968 New life for the old red HCS

On the ones I've done I eyeballed it using a laser level. Where do you want the measurement taken from? On the cars I currently own the bottom of one is 1" above the top of the bumper, and the other one is 1.5" above it. I think 1.5" looks better.

Is that a test fit for the tail light panel or is it installed?

    1968 Muffler size

Tom and Edward, Unfortunately, that's not my car. I just took the photo from a car listed on carsonline.com. http://www.legendarymotorcar.com/site/13101_1968_Shelby_GT500_KR Tom, I think the red oxide goes all the way to the engine compartment, but it should have overspray on it from when...

1968 Newbie With a Question - Dogdish Hubcaps

Yes, the dog-dish caps were standard, I think, but very few cars were ordered/delivered with them.

1968 Newbie With a Question - Dogdish Hubcaps

All the things we normally look for are on the car so it looks good but you MUST get a Marti report to make sure. http://www.martiauto.com/itemselection.cfm?item=REP-1 The first thing I look for are the huge holes in the bottom of the hood for the twist locks. Also please note that the add is...

1968 Removing Marchal lenses from sheet metal?

Lucas lenses and housings are sealed with old-fashioned window putty which can be separated by gently and slowly prying them apart using a 1" putty knife, but I don't know if Marchals are sealed the same way.

    . Freeze 12

The C-code I purchased a year or so ago blows cool air out of the AC system but not cold air so I am thinking of topping it off with some Freeze-12, and maybe a shot of dye to see if there is a small leak. Has anyone use Freeze-12 or know anything about it? Does it mix properly with R-12? Thanks

1968 How many GT/CS are left on the road?

All I can telll you for sure is that we have roughly 1350 in the registry out of 4118 produced. The key question is what percentage of the cars do we have in the registry.

    Another Bad Idea?

It's in Houston. I may need to jump in the J-code and take a trip down there. I'm guessing this air cleaner isn't stock either? Good thing it's on a 6.

1968 And then there were 2 (here's your pics BigJim)

That's the original color of my aqua J-code and after seeing Gary's car in Spokane I'm seriously tempted to take it back to original.
