Jim, Another huge red flag for that car is the VIN. Using rough numbers the California Special VINs are between 130,000 and 173,000 and the VIN on the car in question is 178,633. That said, please keep in mind that since those VINs come from our registry we can't say exacly what the VINs are...

From what I can see in the photo it looks like the foglight brackets are missing, and if those are Marchal lights they are attached incorrectly. They should be attached to the missing brackets in the grille instead of to the bottom grille trim panel. The build date is more than a month before...

Another site member and I were discussing special edition cars the other day and I we couldn't think of any other car that was customized to the extent of the '68 GT/CS - HCS. Other than Shelbys (I consider them a separate model) the closest I could think of are the Superbird/Datona race cars...

Thanks Neil, but I'm putting pad on a deluxe wheel. The wheel shown in the photo is a spare. Somehow I now have 4 steering wheels for 2 cars. It's amazing how that happens.
