The non-Ford tooling dashes are heavily grained. I think the Ford tooling dashes should not be smooth but should have a little grain to them. Almost like leather.

Appy, I think 2 important questions we need answers to before we can figure out what is possible are: How much do you want to spend? and What kind of gas mileage are you looking to get? My old GT/CS had a 289 (smallest V8) with a 2 barrel carb (smallest carb), a 4-speed (no best for mileage)...

From what I've heard www.mrgusa.com can rechrome yours. Some of the chrome on the repro stuff can tend to be a little iffy so inspect closely if you go that route. Do you care if it's repro or Ford? Are you looking for wood grain or black?
