Saw a GT/CS the other day that had smaller holes drilled in the hood than I'm used to seeing. The lower holes were around 1" diameter. Were the bottom holes on some factory cars drilled that way or were they all 3" or so?

Ebay had the last 2 I repored removed within hours. I was really impressed with their speed. The reporting method takes a little getting used to but once you know how to do it it's not too bad.

You've obviously never driven in Houston. It's similar to SoCal. The phrase "like a bat out of hell" best describes the driving styles of both places, except the drivers are meaner here and carry guns.

Ok, so far we've got a double decker rear wing, aero ground effects for the rockers, curb finders, a chicken hawk decal on the hood, and horns for a hood ornament. How about just some 10-spokes and a '67 shelby hood instead?

Someone must have told the seller what it is. The title now says, "Cobra Jet" and the bidding is over $9,000. So much for the bargain of a lifetime.

As with most CJs the original motor was most likely replaced years ago, probably with a 351.

And put the screaming chicken on the hood! Something I've always liked about CSs is their understated styling. They weren't in-your-face like the Trans Am nonsense, or even the later Shelbys. The GT/CS had more of a politely civilized way of saying "my car's cooler than your car".

Sent an email and a picture of a "real" GT/CS, my old highland green one, of course. That makes a good segue(sp?) into my next question. Has anyone ever seen a GT/CS with paint code "X", Presidential Blue? If so is it a lot darker than Acapulco Blue or just little darker?

Gotta wonder why he thinks it's a GT/CS. It does have the 8R01 in the VIN so I wonder if he thinks that all San Jose cars built in '68 are CSs. It's also possible that the High Country Specials from previous years confuse people since they look just like normal coupes. I think I'll email the...
