    Eleanor Convertible Project

It does seem strange to spend that kind of money on an Eleanor kit and have it installed on a questinable chasis. Those kits are not cheap. Aren't the parts alone around $5,000 or so? Maybe the owner never looked under the car or maybe he's inexperienced at this sort of thing and just...

    Air shocks

I'm certainly not saying the air shocks are perfect. Shoot we've listed a number of problems with them in the earlier posts. And I will not have them on any of my future cars, but they have their place in the world. For a 17 year old high school kid with a beat up old California Special, very...

    Another on eBay

Rust might be more of an issue than the owner knows or is letting on. He says that the only rust is a bubble on one door but we all know that there is never just one bubble on one door. Take a look at the picture of the data plate and the picture of the fuel line. In the fuel line photo he's...

    Insurance Repairs

Does anyone know what an insurance company would do if a GT/CS they were insuring was hit in the front and the grille had to be replaced? As far as I know there are no reproduction GT/CS grilles. Even worse, what if the car had Marchals on it and they and the brackets were destroyed? Would...

    Air shocks

True, air shocks are a PITA and they usually ride like a truck but they offer one thing that no one has been able to duplicate. They let you easily adjust the height of the rear of the car to achieve the perfect stance. Not too high, and not too low, just right. Even if you have a couple 250...

Big Block Heater Blower Heat Shield

Saw an ad on ebay about a car that might have originally been a big block car. The seller came to this conclusion because there is a heat shield over the heater blower motor. This is a new one on me. To all you lucky big block owners; do big block cars, and only big block cars, have heat...

    67 GT/CS on ebay

Missed one. The stripes on the front fenders extent over the wheel arches. Now that's an interesting look. Or, as my wife and her relatives would say, "that's different".

You'll be an expert in no time. Did you notice all the errors? Here are the ones I noticed. Wrong gas cap Tail light bezel edges painted body color Scripts don't line up correctly. The seem to be too low or too far forward on the quarter panel too. "Ford" on the hood Wrong fog lgihts Horse...

    Looking for GT/CS to purchase

My theory is that since Highland Green with whtie stripes is the the truest expression of what a GT/CS should be the people who own them just can't bear to get rid of them. One option would be to take one of those blue wannabes and paint it green. ;D

    Looking for GT/CS to purchase

Rhonda, sounds like a good idea. My wife and I are going to make a mini-vacation out of this trip. We are flying into Minneapolis, driving to the North Shore for a few days there, then to Sabin for her brother's wedding, and then back to MSP. Where do you live in relationship to that route...

EXciting day for me today....closing a deal on a 390 CS

In Denver (ahh the good old days) the basements have 2x2 furring over the concrete slabs with standard plywood subflooring over the furring. Makes for a much warmer and softer basement floor. Could do something similar in the day care.

    Looking for GT/CS to purchase

Interesting. Looks like the passenger script doesn't quite line up correctly and there is a horse in the grille. Rhonda do you know if there is any way to get more information on cars in this auction? Thanks for your help. Hey, I just realized that I'll be in Sabin in August and may need...

    Holes in Hoods

yes, the holes for the hood locks. The upper hole (in the hood skin) is usually just a fraction larger than the hood lock but the lower hole (in the hood framing) is usuall huge. From memory I think it's about 3" diameter. As far as I know all of the original hoods had these huge holes in the...

    Looking for GT/CS to purchase

Since Jason keeps intercepting all the California Specials heading to Houston (kind of like the Cuban Missle Crisis boycott) and since he won't park one of his cars in my garage, it looks like I need to take the drastic measure of publicly announcing that I am looking for a GT/CS to purchase...

    GTCS, true or false

Ebay seems to know that people are sending those because they have an option on their home page to report such emails.
