1968 Taking apart my car, need some Help please!

Perfect time for a Mustang II conversion. That will give you lots of room for a nice all aluminum 427!

1968 Taking apart my car, need some Help please!

It was pretty inexpensive. I think I paid a couple hundred bucks at most. I also replaced my under dash and engine compartment wiring harnesses. Don't remember it being difficult. Also, don't remember which direction I went.

1968 Taking apart my car, need some Help please!

Have it media blasted if you can before painting, but if you have rust, it will require repair.

    Boise State

I have always liked Boise State, but they need to play more than 1 good team a year. I heard a story on ESPN yesterday that they had conversations with Nebraska about setting up a game, but demanded to be paid $1M to play. Can't say I am a Dan Hawkins fan these days. Will be interesting to...

    1968 Grass Valley car show...

Looks like fun. 900-1000 cars. That is huge. My club, the Denver Mustang club, has its annual show next week and we typically get 500-600 cars. It is incredibly well run, but still pretty hectic. I could not imagine 900-1000. Good luck to TJ. david

    1968 GOLD in Asheville

Looks like there has been a good showing for the GT/CS's in the major shows this year. Congratulations.

    2007+ 2010 Sturgis Mustang Rally

Way to go!. About 10 members from the Mustang club I belong to attended. Have not heard from them yet, but I am sure they had a great time. Post pictures if you took any. Love to see them.

Post your car show or race wins here!

Really haven't showed a car for a couple of years. I find them too long, too hot, too many people touching my car, etc. I usually go without showing a car and get the opportunity to walk around, talk with folks and leave when I want. Today, though, I went to the Louisville (Co) 15th annual...

    '57 T-Bird

If you have questions or are tracking down parts, Amos Minter is THE restoration guy for 55-57 Tbirds. His shops is awesome and he seemed like a very nice man. http://www.amosminter.com/ At one point, several years back, I was contemplating buying one and went to Dallas to meet him. Ended up...

    Tacoma/Seattle Visit

Bill, thanks for the info. I have heard they put cars up for sale once a year. If they are open in October, I am going to have to stop by and check it out. I have used griots products for years. Love their speed shine. I drove by it on a Saturday, right after they had closed. david

1968 Shock Tower Notch Kit/ Rack & Pinion Help

Here are a couple of pics from one side that I had laying around. I do think the conversion headers make a difference and eliminate the need for modifications. Only problem I have with them is that one of the tubes, on each side, is detachable and fits into a sleeve. They are supposed to...

1968 Shock Tower Notch Kit/ Rack & Pinion Help

I am running a 351W with aluminum heads and Hooker Super Comp headers (specially designed for a 351W conversion). Clearance is not an issue, plenty of room. Changing spark plugs is no problem at all. If you had a 65 or 66, I could see a potential problem with a 351W. Maybe it works so well...

    1968 Lucas Cover needed

While these are the same covers I have, I do not believe they are correct. Aren't the correct ones the ones with the round white circle? david

    1968 Congratulations Mike Jewell – SAAC 35

Congratulations Mike, well deserved. I can't wait to see Bob later this week so I can give him a hard time about winning the "lottery". Good to see our cars being recognized. david

    Tacoma/Seattle Visit

It was a really busy few days. Hopefully we can get together in October, that would be nice. We did have lunch in Gig Harbor, saw the signs to Bremerton. Was thinking of you all. Is it worth visiting the LeMay Museum or even the new Griot's HQ? david

1968 How much should I offer?

In this market, I would say not worth very much. Many people underestimate restoration costs. Sounds like you have some past experience, so you are probably aware. Paint, Interior, Engine rebuilt will run you at a minimun $15K and could go much, much higher. Little things like brakes will...

    Tacoma/Seattle Visit

Just got back from Tacoma dropping off my son at college. Wish it could have been a few weeks earlier, would have loved being at the MCA show and BBQ at Rob's. My wife and I were in town for about 4 days. Very busy shopping and getting him settled in the dorms. We did get some time to check...
