1968 Had a kid stop by and beg me to sell him my CS

I had one of those kind of conversations about a 66 mustang I had. Guy gave me his number and said he would buy it blah blah blah. I called him 3-4 months later and left a message. He never returned the message. I wasn't suprised.

    Tilt-away steering

I guess it's possible it's a "away" as well. I'd never hook up the away part, I don't like away but like the up and down.

    Non-GT 390 4V Coupe

slightly foggy here...... I think the GT equipment was part of the S code package but could be deleted if ordered that way. Mainly the stiff suspension was the part that was commonly deleted if I remember right.

1968 Black 428 at Fabulous Fords

I know of 2 of the 3 and I'm 99% sure the third is known ( my memory is a little foggy on the third). There was a discussion on here about the big 3.

1968 Ignition switch or starter solenoid

if it happens again tap the top of the solenoid with a hammer. You can check the connections the solenoid screws make to the car. If they get loose or get dirt in there it can cause the solenoid to stick. It needs to be grounded well.

what he said. 428 badges on fender and no starter delay tip the hat that's it's not factory IMO.

1968 repro Marchal fog lights now available

if I owned a original set and a repro I would only use the originals. Why keep the originals in a box instead of on the car? Yes, I know the answer as "to save the originals". My philosophy is "original over repro anyday".

A little Friday morning ride at........218.3 mph

below 190 mph run the requirements are easier and pretty much all you need is a helmet, 2 pound fire extinguisher in the car and long pants and shirt. To go over 190 mph in a modern car you need roughly 700rwhp. check the Texas Mile website, they have it all printed out.

    Tilt-away steering

My CS came with a manual tilt column (not an option on my car so added by previous owner). I am 99% sure it does not go "away" it just goes up and down manually. It's definately a Ford column and looks like a Mustang but I guess it could be a Cougar?
