1968 Why not convert my GT/CS to convertible

They say it's about $16K for the conversion. If you figure your GT/CS is worth at least $25K-$30K, you're coming up with $41K-$46K to build a $30K car. I've seen convertibles going for $15K-$20K. If it were me and I wanted a "Shelby Convertible" I'd sell the CS, buy a convertible and add the...

For Sale Early GT/CS that may be a Clone

I don't know Neil. The part I'm looking at has a molded lip around the bottom, a tab for a screw mount at the top and the ends over the outer light and near the bottom of the gas filler support look formed.

Probably the hard way. I saved them to my computer, rotated them 90 degrees clockwise with "Paint", saved under a new name and then reposted them. Steve

    2022 Chicago Auto Show

I'm by no means a Chevy fan, but I just can't understand why Ford wants $500k for a GT but Chevy can sell a fully loaded Corvette for around $100K.

    2007+ New GT/CS Classics

The only issue I'm aware of is horsepower limitations. I've heard stories of engines grenading when you try to go above a certain level. 450-500 hp seems to stick in my mind. 460hp for a 5.0 is real close to what the '07-'08 GT500's with a 5.4 put out (500).

    1968 Carburetor Questions

Rob would be the expert here, but I'll chime in and then he can correct me if needed. 1) There are two ports because some cars use a dual diaphragm vacuum advance unit. Yours is a single advance so you would use the carburetor (timed) vacuum. 2) The engine does have PCV, and it did go to...

    1968 January 1968 390 Date Code 390 Block Questions

I can't give you specifics on an early '68 390, but I can say generally, parts will be date coded within a month of the build date. I've heard though that the strike in late '67 caused date codes to be all over the map, so the date codes you mentioned are possible. The way to be sure is if the...
