Need your input: Paul Newitt writing a new GT/CS Recog. & Owner's Manual

I agree with Neil. Register on this site and the information will be forwarded to the registrar. This site also contains the registry information and is a basis for registry information. As the world becomes more digital I would predict that this site will become the registry for the...

1968 All new book updates posted on saac ?

Rich, My take is that it is a volunteer job to gather all the data. Eventually the data gathered is built into the official registry. The person running and maintaing the registery would then be the 'registrar' of the registry. The person running the registry can change - thus the registrar...

. Paul M. Newitt has a new article in the Shelby American magazine.

John and Steve, You guys have legitimate points. The book is overdue....for whatever legitimate reasons or excuses. I understand, and empathize, with your frustration on that point. I agree Paul needs to put the "final brush strokes" on the artwork and release it. I am encouraging Paul...

. Paul M. Newitt has a new article in the Shelby American magazine.

Paul is the GT/CS registrar, and is writing an expert book on the GT/CS - third in the series since his being the registrar for over 20 years. I dont understand why people dont get why he remains an integral part of what we have to do and talk about when it comes to the GT/CS and this site. It...

The passing of one of finest of the "Greatest Generation"

My wife and I discussed this last night. It's like a piece of us (almost like family) is now missing. Yes, he was 92 - but Walter seemed bigger than life for us growing up, and we just expected him to always be there. I hope to see him again some day when my time comes to go . Casey

. Paul M. Newitt has a new article in the Shelby American magazine.

Yes, SAAC costs a membership to join and in order to get their magazine (online magazine these days). I have been a member for many, many years....so, I didnt just join for the article. The article is drawn from the new book, so the two are not exclusive activities. I know for certain Paul is...

I proof-read the article a couple weeks ago for Paul. Glad to see it is published now. It is very good. There is amazing history behind our GT/CS and HCS's. Casey

Need your input: Paul Newitt writing a new GT/CS Recog. & Owner's Manual

Hi All, for those not on SAAC, here is a note from Paul. Thanks, Casey --- "I would like to take a moment to thank a couple of people that have helped me with the GT/CS Registry. Bob Teets runs the ('66-'68) High Country Special Registry in Colorado, but has gone beyond the call of duty...

    1968 ???- 302 "off the line" acceleration

I had a 289 with 4 barrel intake and mild cam, automatic, and it still didnt jump off the line. It was a nice sewing machine motor - ran great and sounded good. I then went to a 2200 stall converter and 3.89 rear end.....some improvement, but not the 'smoking tires' I was looking for. I...

    . SAAC Officially Adds GT/CS

fyi.....a recent reply about Paul selling his car to someone asking about that issue on saac. Quote: "Dear P-C, No, I didn't mean to imply that the selling of my GT/CS is necessary to publish the book. It's in addition to other money I've been offered. It's a backup. I have several options...

. GT/CS book set for late September.

I am in constant contact with Paul, and he is working hard on the book. Keep up the faith. There are many other cool things that intertwine the CS with Ford and Mustang that Paul is working on with Ford and others. Just like the late model GT/CS work he did with Ford that caused the late...

    2005 Registry Update Thread

The first book was the GT/California Special Recognition Guide & Owners Manual (1989) - the cover and back cover was color with Paul's car on the front. The pages were B&W. It was a bound book. The second book was the GT/CS 1996 Registry. It is all B&W, and spiral bound. Thanks, Casey
