Grabber....Black? Well the Grabber Orange '08 CS just wasn't in the cards. But, I did end up getting a pre-owned Black '07 CS coupe with most of the goodies. Here's a couple of pics. Will take better ones with the '68 and '07 together after the rain lets up. -Jeff

Did California provide both front and back black plates? Yes. That is one thing I DO remember ;-)

So, it sounds like if you provide period correct plates, ones that aren't still registered to another car, that'll work? I'm wondering about the reproductions from http://www.licenseplates.tv and if those would be accepted by the DMV. I guess as this process starts up, we'll find out.

And what if....the build date had been in the right range? Rich/all, I'd noticed that, too...the Denver DSO. So, what if the build date HAD been within the correct range for this HCS? Without the Marti report, the prospective buyer would never really know if it was a real HCS or not. -Jeff

So, since the '68 Shelby's were all Mustangs ordered with Deluxe interior, did they NOT have woodgrain lower console?

Ron, Thanks for the clarification! I was beginning to wonder if I had the wrong lower console. I have the deluxe interior with both upper (woodgrain) and lower (non-woodgrain) consoles and had never seen the woodgrain on the lower console. -Jeff

Oh yeah!!! Where I'm at, about 40 miles east of the quake epicenter near Milpitas, there was pretty good shaking and rolling. In case anyone is wondering...nothing fell on the CS!! ;-)
