    1968 Brake Lights? HELP!

OK - I finally had the GTCS shipped out to North Carolina and we have been reunited. When they were unloading the car, I noticed one light bulbs not working on the brakes and the reverse lights did not come on. I thought maybe I forgot to put bulbs in the reverse lights, but they worked later...

    1968 J-Code GT/CS Restoration Thread

OK guys - I have been absent for a while...we are finally getting settled in North Carolina. Not a lot of time to get on here...all work and no play... Anyway, progress on the car though...here is a vid of the car with motor running and exhaust in place. A bit tame for Rob, but plenty for the...

Should be the stamped steel nuts for the reflector and speed (press) nuts for the script.

    1968 Vent Window Frames

I had some replated at a local shop - totally on the cheap ($75 for the pair)...far from perfect and he explained that potmetal takes a special slow chroming process. I can't remember the nuts and bolts of the process, but there are guys who do it. Search VMF and there is several people who...

    1968 67 Motor Mounts

Thanks guys. I bought a pair of "68" SB brackets and bolted right up...strange things that Ford did - even stranger that no one makes the mount...I mean I get that it was "67 only" - but the reality is that it also included several hundred thousand converts...Oh well problem solved.

Anyone experienced any engine mount issues with a 67 OR convertible mustang and corresponding brackets and mounts? Pray tell....

    1968 289 or 302 block

The 289 C code heads (289 and 66 cast in the top) you have are a 54.5CC chamber...enough clinch for today's gas and only 1CC larger than the j-code heads. It is the ports that are choking the motor. An intake may make some difference, but in the end, the exhaust port only allows so much out...

1968 Alloy Metal rear taillight harness review

I would have to check again to see if it was present or not. I remember it having one, but, it wasn't close to anything to clip into if I remember right...almost like it was made for a fastback... But the wire was pretty stretched so I doubt it will rattle anyway - once I get it attached to the...

    1968 License lamp Shield

Here are a couple of photos that show it, but not specifically just that part. It is all I could find...but I think you will get the idea. The two outer most screws also hold the rear tail light panel in place. The center screw is a pan head self taping phillips like the ones that hold the...

    1968 Grill Rivets

Lee - very generous of you...I may have to borrow it when it is a few generations down the road and I am bugged by my pop rivets. Maybe soldering...lol... You would think that someone would have come out with a set of dies that can be used in a vice...it seems a simple thing to do...maybe I am...

1968 Side Scoops - Stripe Installation and black insert

I used black self adhesive "vinyl" used by many ladies around here for DIY wall stickers - seems to be the same kind of stuff as the stripes. Used the aluminum grille to trace and cut out the pattern. Striped the scoop on the car, then removed to finish the wrap around the back. This way I...

1968 Alloy Metal rear taillight harness review

Is this the GTCS one? I got mine from CoralSnake - I though he has the exclusive on this one - maybe not anymore. I found mine to be a bit short - it is strung fairly tight from the wheel well to the rear panel. To top it off, the replaced rear qtr sheet metal doesn't have the retainer tabs...

    1968 PDB Distribution Block

"Fix a crack in the machined brass block? Not likely." - I had to ask, there are some creative guys out there. Thanks guys - I will go the repop route! Does anyone know where to get just a front left PDB brake line? I don't want to buy a whole kit.

    1968 License lamp Shield

I found that mine attached to 3 points - two points are the same screw as the fiberglass taillight panel and the third is just under the "lip" right below the gas cap. No original photos, was based off what I could find on the net and the assembly manual.
