Not saying it was me, but did anyone glimpse the '08 colorless xxx versus the colorless xxx late last xxxxx night on the Sxxxxx Vxxxxx?

Man, those stabilizer bars were in full effect! The handling was awesome! And the SOUND was... was... beautiful...

Had to slow down to xxx in the xxxxx- Not a lot of squirliness in the rear, good tires & good traction.

xxx I sincerely dislike defending myself xxx and my actions xxx to some people xxx

Crazy lunatics. Never met a mustang I wouldn't xxxxx in challenge. Street racing is illegal and strictly prohibited.

And yes I'm sure the drivers both knew the ticket is $100 for every 10 mph over the legal limit.

We had to slow down on 509 by SeaTac airport- air traffic control- and I must say, the '06 V6 was fast once we got going. Lighter engine?

Wait till I drop in my sc and we'll do it again. It wasn't a race; we paced each other side by side. Well, some cars got in the way... but we went around them...

(Shhh...) Do I dare say next Sunday there will be a re-match?

Please don't. You don't know what other drivers are going to do and at those speeds you won't have time to react to their unexpected moves. Take it to a strip.

Let's be careful out there

Anyone else remember Chico Marx answering "Why a Duck?"

In parts of SoCal the Cops impound cars that people street race, after several confiscations,....they crush your car. But I think you get to keep the keys.

Also in SoCal, if someone dies as the result of street racing, manslaughter charges are brought against all drivers that survive.

Well I had to go back and shut my mouth to not implicate anyone for doing any wrongdoings.

Thank you, Timmknz, for saving me from my own people.

I think everyone here has taken their GT/CS, or another Mustang out for a high-speed "what will she do"? spin...

Yes, it's dangerous and stupid, but we've all done it. Admit it.
(so, don't be too hard on Amy. "Pssst...Amy, slow down. People can't read your side stripes going that fast")

And...people have been killed, and I've had some near-misses on the freeway from tuner racing. I once was almost killed by a 110 mph Yellow Ferrari coming from Hwy 80 in Sacto, merging into my lane, just before the Yolo Causeway.

Just two days ago, I came up next to a new Zo6 Vette, and he decided to blow me off and cut sharply in front of me, and take off to definately over 100mph. Was I impressed? No, but I laughed at the fact he'd just fried $5 worth of gas doing that trick. "Whateveh"....

What galls me are the high dollar cars (Ferrari, Porsche, Beemers, Vettes, etc..) that think they can drive fast to their own rules (and they use those 11-99 Foundation (CHP charity) plate frames, thinking they won't get a ticket.

Yeah ,sure...

At least it's the Mustangs that stand their own ground on the road. You don't have to race, but you will get attention from everyone. It's the look of High Performance that gets the respect...

if you think your fast...come out to the track and prove it...many slow ass cars can do over 120mph it just takes a long time and doesnt prove anything..

there should be a requirement for everyone getting their drivers license that they have to go to a drag strip and go as fast as they can...then they can get it out of their system and see some really fast cars that put their car to shame...

i see a 16 year old kid in a brand new GT mustang that his parents probably bought him that he races up and down my residential street into the oncoming traffic lane blowing through stop signs and one day he is going to regret it...

just be safe out there....you don't want to be the one on the news that had his/her GT/CS mustang destroyed because of your own stupidity

.....when he kills a child who runs into the street. I'm amazed the neighbors haven't explained things to him in a way he can understand, or asked the local police to explain it to him.

From personal observation, and speaking only for myself, you never get "going fast" out of your system. Have I gone way to fast on the street? Yes. Will I do it again? Probably. Is there a better place for it? Yes. Should I know better? Definately.

...Okay, so with "human nature" the order of the day & taking risks the American way - Just don't be ignorant about it.

And remember your friends here who DON't want to read about consequences of those un-calculated risks...

ok maybe you won't get "going fast out of your system"...but if my dragstrip education idea was a requirement...then at least young men and women would be more educated on safety and wouldn't feel like they have the fastest car in the world and that they are invincible or something...maybe they would realize that driving a car is something serious and that it is also risky...every time you get in your car, you are taking a chance that you will be killed or that you can kill someone else

i see what you are saying though steve...sometimes its hard to resist temptation

Agreed, and there is something to be said for learning in a controlled environment. I graduated from drag racing to road course and learned where the limits were for me and the car. I would always take my "challenges" to a secluded spot (be honest-every small town has them) where innocent bystanders wouldn't be an issue, if for some reason it couldn't wait till Saturday. As I think about it, it's probably an issue of population density. Out here in the sticks, you can find places that are reasonable safe to run without being a public menace. In SoCal and big cities, you're looking at city streets with other traffic. I'll step out on a limb and say the actions are the same, but the settings are where the majority of the risk comes from. I sometimes forget not everyone is 5 minutes from a place where you can't see another human, so in rereading my previous post, it probably sounds uncaring to most of you. That wasn't my intent.

Steve
