I have attached photos from the AD.

This car is in the CS registry, added in 2015. I have a Marti report on file. The original color is N - Diamond Blue exterior

Looks like the correct Marchal Fog Light. But I am not 100% they would be correct for this car. When was the cutoff end of March for Marchal?

I met the person who bought this car today. He bought it so he can go cruising with his friend who also has one in Houma, La. So that makes 4 of us within 100 miles of each other.

My car was built on the very same day and has Lucas fogs with pedestals. April 3rd looks like the cutoff date.

Factory started using Lucas lights on April 29th. On Oct 9, 1968 a letter was sent out to owners of Shelby's and GT/CS's produced pre-April 26th to come in for a retro fit. Many never showed up so another letter was sent out in August 1970. At least this is the info in Paul's book.

My fogs are bone stock. How can they not be correct?

Serious question. Not trying to be a smart a$$.
During the fog light recall some dealers used incorrect hardware to install the Lucas lights. The small chrome bases that came with the lights were to be discarded and the dealers were supposed to use custom hardware sent by Ford. For one reason or another they used the small chrome bases.
The correct pedestals are much taller.
Attached is a photo of the correct hardware

I never knew that. Thank you for the explanation.

I actually like the look of the shorter bases vs. the taller ones.

Here are some closeup photos of the correct tubular pedestals. They were taller so the fog lights sat higher up. This aligned them with the center of the headlights and put them (roughly) equally spaced top-to-bottom in the grille opening, for a "floating" look.
