1968 1968 steering wheel pad repro?

Last time I looked for a '68 steering wheel pad was 10-12 years ago. No one made a repro at the time. I figured by now someone would have, but I'm not finding any.

Is there a repro available or is finding an unwarped original the only option?

I'm talking the large pad, not the small center front pads with buttons.

Just saw two on E-bay going for a $125.00 that's crazy! Where do they warp at? I have one, I can find it and look at it. I can send it to you?

Rick,
What color is your interior? I have an extra light blue one that’s not split and an ok driver. If you’re interested, you can have it for free, just pay for the shipping. Message me your info.

When selecting a used horn pad make sure that they are pliable. Nice yellow colored foam on the back is a good indicator. Cooler temperatures, will make the vinyl feel harder. So take that into consideration. Shrinkage of vinyl parts is common. Often times the bezel assembly will not seat all the way.

Jon, I have a dark red horn pad that appears to be in very good shape, and I see no evidence of warping or shrinkage. Do you want it?

While we're on the subject: I also need a horn pad. Color doesn't matter. I can dye it Black if necessary.

Neil,
I’m pretty sure I have a black one. I’ll take a look.

Arlie;

Perfect. I do have all the extraneous pieces (new wheel, center piece, buttons, trim piece).
Let me know cost and I'll take care of it.

Cesar,
Thank you very much, but mine is good. I think I have an extra one and was gonna offer it up to Jon if he needed one, but I wanted to make sure it was worthy of use. That's why I was asking about how they warp. Thanks CougarCJ for that info.

Sounds like Neil and Jon have one coming their way. So I'll just wait until next time this part is needed again.

A special thanks to Cesar (cmacias24) for the steering wheel pad. Much appreciated! It looks great! Now I just need to finish the rest of the interior.
