Shelby hood looks good on a GT/CS clone.

This car is on eBay.

I agree that hood looks great, ditch the gangster wheels.

Man, I wish we would have gotten the Shelby hood with all the CS's.

I was going into the base today and saw a '68 Mustang that the owner had made into a '68 Shelby coupe, to include the correct front end, so it looked like the Green Hornet. I tried to see where it was going but because it was behind me I lost him. I was wondering if it could possibly be a GT/CS that someone convertfd. I will keep on looking for him and leave a note on his car if I can find it again.

So--is this a production aftermarket '68 Shelby hood (with stock front end), or did this guy graft a Shelby scoop on a stock metal hood? Can you ask the EBAY seller? If it's available, I'd like to know who makes it --for the book.

The scoop part looks a tad too far forward (in proportion to a '68 Shelby hood). I'd pull the scoop back about 2-3 inches.

Thanks, Paul N.

I think it looks too far forward because it doesn't have the Shelby nose panel in front of it. If I remember correctly the nose filler piece (where the SHELBY letters are) is around 3" deep.

Here is the Green Hornet for comparison.

You're right. The Shelby nose design sticks out an additional 3 inches (or so). To compensate, that Mustang version hood should shorten the scoop, by pulling the front of it back about three inches. It doesn't look that bad, but it could be better.

Paul N.

p.s. www.fangperformance.com has a '05 version of the same hood. Get a look at their spoilers, too. They have one that looks the closest to a '68 GT/CS & Shelby. Also look at their stripe kits. The '07 CS could use this spoiler and stripe combo.

I like the looks of the Shelby hood. It looks better with the nose piece but even without it, I still like it.

Cool pics from Fang. I like the black spoiler in the pics. That would be a great idea for a new GT/CS.
